Captain certainly loved Komrad's work in his office throughout the years. They were close, good friends outside of their work.Until the day came. "Take your kid to work day."
Komrad was legally old enough to have custody over his little brother. He was 25, and Striker was 14. Komrad had said, his birth was an accident and his parents had an accidental teenage pregnancy.
Striker obviously was ecstatic when his older brother took him to the Department, back when Arcana was in its early years of peace. Timber Alpharo's rage had not existed yet—she hadn't met Rocori at that point, she was barely 8 years old.
He was chipper, meeting all of his brother's work friends like he saw them every day, even the Captain. He talked proudly of himself, saying he wanted to be a cop when he was older regardless of the fact that Captain barely paid any attention to him.
Komrad never saw a problem with it. He knew he was going to the laser-tag facilities to practice his aim and adrenaline rush behind a figured toy that was nothing close compared to a real gun and a real life or death situation. He used to find it funny, how much Striker wanted to go to his work, be a cop, save the world.
But it became obsessive.
It was borderline-insane, how frequently he'd bring up the mentioning of it, and start acting like a real officer. Komrad received phone calls from the teachers or principals at school about how he handled other students when they did something 'illegal' or 'against the law'. Even bringing up the law, code of conducts, and sectors.
"Striker you're 13, you can't be acting like this at school. I've already received complaints."
"Like what?! Trying to make the world
a better place and keep order?!"He didn't understand. Of course.
That's just the way it was.
Striker, cherished that day and worked hard, up until Komrad went on a Spec Ops mission that he'd been waiting a long time to go for, not in NY. Leaving Captain baffled and out of options with the jewelry robbery, his newest technician, Holley, suggested Striker—noting how much he wanted to be a cop.
He was given a chance, and Striker met the expectations. As years went by, and when Komrad was permanently moved to the SWAT/Spec Ops team, Captain grew angry and restless, disliking a lot of things—the main four being Kyarra, Rocori, Timber, and Striker.
"Do you have some sort of fucking crush on her? You hang around her like you're old best-friends and act like nothing's wrong!"
"I do not have a crush on her. She's insufferable."
"I'll believe it when I see it." Captain grumbled. "It's all in the mind, Captain." Striker said, bringing the chief's attention up. "You need to live inside the mind of your prey. It's all a game."
* Timber fell asleep that night, holding a spare hoodie and thinking of Striker, grinning at her. *
"As soon as you get in the mind; it's game over."

"Officer Komrad, I hope your missions are going well. If you receive this email then that is good to know, and I carry some news in lieu of your brother. Striker has shown great work and skills during your departure, but is very closed, which is a concern and danger for the team. He neglects taking off any sort of mask, and not even revealing his last name. I know you said you go by your mother's last name, but are you able to give me your fathers? And his real last name? Not the fake one he had on a passport. The head council is already letting me pull enough strings for his closure. Please get back to me soon, as I'm trying to write his record for the council.
— Captain"Komrad sighed, closing the email and bringing out his phone. He was on break, luckily, his mission had a pause. He dialled his younger brothers number, hearing the ringing feedback.
"Yes, older brother?" Striker smiled through the phone.
"First off, congratulations on earning a position at APD. Secondly, you need to tell Captain our last name."
"For what particular reason." He demanded. "Head Council."
".. I will consider. Goodbye, brother." And he hung up.
Komrad placed his phone back down, sighing angrily out his nose, knowing he wouldn't give his last name even if his life depended on it. Striker had always been like that, always so curious yet he rejects any information about himself.
That's just the way it is, huh.
