"Being a black person in this world is hard. Especially as black woman that is a upcoming doctor. I would know because I am one. So people tend to look down on me."
"I lived in Kenya for almost half my life, that country was all I knew. But growing up there wasn't all that peachy. My mother and father were struggling to make ends meet. With mom being a stay-at-home mom, and dad working two jobs we were struggling."
"Eventually dad got a job offer in Russia. He never told me what it was though . All I knew was dad was going to bring in a lot of money. So when I was just eleven we moved to Russia. That's where things became to get better for us."
"Well for our income, moving to a predominately white area was hard. In school, I got bullied for my skin color and accent. That's when dad gave me a tutor to learn Russian."
"Over the years I had become fluent in the language. Even pick up an semi Russian accent. The bullying descended and I had made a couple of friends. In high school that's when things got weird. It came to my attention I had a stalker."
He would send me all kinds of lingerie, sex toys, and love letters. My stalker would harass me to the point I had to change my number on many occasions. I only told my dad about it because I didn't want to stress my mom. But telling him was no use because he would always brush it off. I tried to go to the police myself but they didn't do anything about. They would just turn their heads. Some would even look terrified of me so I gave up.
In school since I was smart, I got skipped multiple grades. When I was 16 I graduated as valedictorian and got a scholarship to attend college in America. I would finally get to go away for a while."
"I attended school there for 7 years. Once again I was the youngest with the highest grades in every class. So when I turned twenty-three I graduated with my M.D."
"Now here I am on a plane to Russia going back to this hellhole I call home."
