The Reaper's Keeper

Chapter 2

"You're telling me, a single person, took down the group of people I assigned to be the world's mightiest heroes?" the avengers' heads hung low at the mention of their failed mission.

"Well, you failed to mention that this guy is a lot more enhanced than Capsicle here and apparently they got a superpower or something? What happened back there, Romanoff?" Tony worriedly asked the redhead beside him.

"It seems like some kind of invisible force holding me down, I couldn't move at all. This had never happened before ever since I encountered them." It was scary and for the first time ever, she's afraid of what you truly are capable of.

"Then let's make this mission your top priority. Gather all the Intel we got of this Reaper and if possible, capture them." Fury commanded the group. Everyone began to work on their task, determined to catch the dangerous individual they have encountered.

The mission was unfruitful of course. It seemed like you've disappeared from the face of the world. It had been 7 months since their last encounter of you. You never resurfaced again and somehow, you managed to mask the scepter's energy unable to be tracked.

The team had not relaxed since then, always searching for every possible way to capture you. Even when they had known and raided bases of Hydra, the mission to capture you will always be the top priority. They had known that Hydra is not affiliated with you and that makes the mission hard.

The redhead huffed loudly in front of her laptop, frustrated that they can't find any single trace of you. She had filed all the encounters she had with you and yet it is still getting nowhere.

A knock disturbed her undivided attention from her laptop. She looked up from the screen and saw Steve at the doorframe.

"Tony discovered another lab again. He wants us to personally scope this place since apparently, his technology couldn't fully scan it. I'll meet you in the conference room for the briefing." She could only nod at her teammate before he turned his back at her. She soon followed him after.

After the briefing, the team consisting of Steve, Natasha, Tony, Clint, Bruce and even Thor started boarding the quinjet, not taking the chance to encounter a dangerous individual with the scepter alone by any of them.

They still have yet to scale your capabilities and their best bet is to face you all together.

The lab they have discovered is underground and seems to be abandoned. In their case, an abandoned lab is never abandoned and empty. It was hard to find it first, but thanks to Tony's technology, they will investigate this lab they didn't know it existed before.

Everyone on the board is on high alert when nearing the destination, the sun had started to set allowing the sign of night to seep in. The sky's already dark when they arrived.

Going over the plan for nth time, the group infiltrated the lab while Bruce stayed on the jet. Since stealth is not the group's forte, after half an hour, an alarm goes off alerting any person who might be inside.

"Are you sure there's no one here Tony? The alarm says otherwise." Steve said to his earpiece. He heard Tony scoff indicating he somewhat offended him.

"Yeah, well no one appeared on the scan before," Tony begrudgingly said.

"Okay, enough you two. I'm pretty sure someone had already heard the alarm making their way to escape. Please tell me that any of you had discovered something." Natasha reprimands.
