Blicket- Music

So this was inspired by  thatboleyngirlreads and their book of WoF one-shots, also Blicket is my absolute OTP and I have like at least 12 ideas for fanfictions so here's one. This is for WatsonPhia's Writing contest. High school AU, it is Blue, Sundew, Cricket but they don't know her yet, and Willow's first day of sophomore year, and Luna and Swordtail's first day of junior year.

Blue's soulmate had interesting taste in music. Whoever they were. Blue had a different singer stuck in his head every day and most of them he never listened to. Blue listened to pop (clean pop) but had everything else stuck in his head.  Except for the fact that rap was rarely part of the mix, it seemed like whoever Blue's soulmate was listened to every genre of song there was. All of Blue's friends and his sister knew who their soulmate was. Luna listened to punk music but always had rap music stuck in her head, Swordtail listened to rap but always had punk stuck in his head, Sundew listened to rock but always had country stuck in her head, and Willow listened to country but always had rock stuck in her head. "So what artist is it today?" Luna asked, smirking. " Come Out and Play by The Offspring, yesterday was Graveyard by Kelsea Ballerini, and the day before that was It's My Life by Bon Jovi." Blue answered.  "Well, it's first day of sophomore year, maybe you'll figure out who they are today." Luna said. Just then, the bus pulled up and they got inside to go to school. Luna went to sit in the back seat with Swordtail and Blue looked around for an empty seat. There was only one, next to a blonde girl with glasses who was reading. "Can I sit here?" Blue asked the girl. "Yeah, sure you can. What's your name?" The girl asked. "I'm Blue, what about you?" Blue asked. "I'm Cricket, I like your hair." The girl said pointing to the purple streak in Blue's hair. "Thank you, what book are you reading?" Blue said. "Kingdom of Ash, it's from the Throne of Glass series." Cricket said. They kept talking until they got to school.

~timeskip to when they get to school~ 

Blue looked at his schedule and saw that he had Language with Ms Jewel first period. "I have Language first period, what about you?" Blue asked. "Oh, me too. With Ms Jewel?" Cricket said. "Yeah." Blue said. *They walk to class and sit down.* "Okay class, so for this first class you need to sit at your desk and read quietly." Ms Jewel said. 

~timeskip to lunch because I don't want to write the other classes~

"Cricket, do you want to come sit with me and my friends?" Blue asked. "Sure, where are they?" Cricket said. "They're over here." Blue said. *they walk to the table* "Hi everyone, this is Cricket, I met her on the bus this morning. Cricket, this is my sister Luna, her boyfriend Swordtail, Sundew, and Willow." Blue said.  "Hi Cricket, how are you?" Willow asked. "I'm good, thank you, how are you?" Cricket asked her. Blue and Cricket sat down. "What kind of music do you normally listen to?" Luna asked. "Oh, I normally listen to a lot of different types of music, however I am listening to Come Out and Play by The Offspring today." Cricket said.

~timeskip again because I'm lazy to the end of the day~

"Well, are you going to tell her or what?" Luna asked. "It could be a coincidence, a bunch of people are probably listening to Come Out and Play by The Offspring and have varied music tastes." Blue said. Luna rolled her eyes. "Who else could it be? And besides, I already know you have a crush on her. You're too obvious." Okay, well that wasn't a lie, Blue did have a crush on Cricket, but he wasn't going to tell Luna that. "I don't have a crush on her,  (666 words 😈)and even if I did, there is no way she'd have a crush on me. There is no point in telling her a silly theory." Blue said. "Look, either you're telling her, or I'm telling her. If you are going to tell her, do it by the end of tomorrow." Luna said. 

~another timeskip this time to the next day~ 

Blue had another song stuck in his head, this time Enchanted by Taylor Swift. Don't get excited, they probably just like the song. Blue thought. Although, if he was honest with himself, he also thought it was Cricket, or at least he hoped it was. "Well, what song is it today?" Luna asked. "Enchanted by Taylor Swift, although does it really matter?" Blue said. "Yes, it matters, you clearly don't get it. She met you yesterday and now she's listening to that song, she clearly likes you, if you listen to the lyrics." Luna said. "You don't even listen to that type of music, how would you know?"  Blue asked. "I still know the song, are you going to tell her or what?" Luna asked. "I don't know yet." Blue said.  Just then, the bus pulled up.

*they get on the bus, Luna goes to sit with Swordtail, Blue sits with Cricket, who has her earbuds in*

"What song are you listening to?" Blue asked. "Enchanted by Taylor Swift." Cricket said, blushing slightly. "Cricket?" Blue said. "Yes?"  Cricket said. "Umm, so you know the theory about ummm, how uhh you have uhh, whatever song your soulmate is listening to stuck in your head?" Blue stuttered. Now what, she's going to think you are insane. Blue thought. "Yeah, what about it?" Cricket asked. "Well, umm, IhavethatsongstuckinmyheadandIhadthesongyoulistened to yesterdaystuckinmyheadsoIthinkwe'resoulmates." Blue rambled.(gods that hurt me to type) "Umm, I couldn't understand that, could you please repeat that?" Cricket asked. "Okay, I have that song stuck in my head and I had the song you listened to yesterday stuck in my head so I think we're soulmates." Blue (1000 words wth brain are you good) said, blushing. "I mean, I don't know what music you listen to, but I kinda have a crush on you even though we just met, and I also always have pop music stuck in my head, which I listen to some of it, but not all of it." Cricket said, also blushing. "I listen to mainly pop and I also kinda have a crush on you." Blue said. "So I guess, we are soulmates." Cricket said. 

*the bus finally got to the school*

Blue and Cricket got off the bus and started walking to class. They walked to Cricket's class, which was art with Ms Scarab. Just before Cricket went inside, she hugged Blue, then ran inside, blushing like crazy. Blue walked to his class alone, but he couldn't concentrate all day.
