Sentinel Orbital Defense Complex, Earth’s Orbit
5 Hours Later…
They reconvened in the main hangar bay, the Martian commander began, “A direct Interplanetary Ballistic Missile assault on the moon would solve the problem and the UGN could begin to rebuild.”
Samuel, shocked at the statement, replied "Are you saying you would forfeit 20 million people in the main lunar colony just to kill a terrorist cell?”
“Yes, that is exactly what I am suggesting” replied the commander.
Maximilian walked into the room, after listening to the brainstorming that happened replied, “First not all plans are the best course of action. Second, how about a mixture of the plans where we do a missile strike on the major tunnels seals of the colony and a strike team sent in to remove the cell”
“How do you know so much about the military doctrine Maximillian?” said the commander with a mixture of disgust and confusion.
“If you didn’t know, I trained at the Imperial Military Academy as an intelligence officer.” replied Maximillian.
“You’re an intelligence officer?!” replied the Martian commander.
“Yes I am.” replied Maximillian.
“Now we should get back to planning this assault now that you know the source of my military expertise” Maximillian replied wryly.
The young soldier walked into the room to report a change in the flight pattern of the Kera’Menage ships when…
“Sirs…... “ the young soldier began to speak but was interrupted.
“You’re not supposed to be in here, Soldier!” yelled at the commander in anger
“Let him speak, Commander.” replied Samuel
“No! He’s to leave the room immediately He’s not ranked high enough to be in here” replied the commander.
“Speak up kid, because whatever information you’ve got is going to lead to a breakthrough.” said Maximillian in a calmer voice than the rest of the men in the room were using.
The young soldier walked into the room and went towards where Maximillian was sitting and said, “Mr. Wayne, We’ve found out that the Kera’Menage fleet has moved to try to stop the repair shipments of materials from the other colonies from going to Earth but they’ve left a hole in their defense to do this.”
“Now, that’s some useful intelligence.” replied Maximillian
“You might want to get out of here kid, this is going to become quite difficult if you don't leave.” continued Maximillian
“Yes, Sir.” replied the young soldier as he quietly left the room
“Gentleman!” Samuel and the Martian Commander turned towards him and Maximillian continued speaking “While the two of you were bickering I’ve found out what information the kid had. The Kera’Menage fleet has moved in an attempt to block the supply chain of rebuilding materials from getting in, and they’ve left a hole in which we can sneak in and hit them where it hurts.”
“The plan will work but I think more ships could be useful to allow for more breathing space.” replied Samuel
“I’ve got a friend who might be able to help. We should sleep on it so that we’re not all sleep deprived when we get ready to siege an entire celestial body” replied Maximillian as he left the room.
Maximilian returned to his ship the Destiny’s Arrow and fell asleep quite quickly and awoke on a beach under a dark blue sky lightened by three moons… all he heard was a man ,who looked like him but older, saying “these are the three moons and kingdoms Xeres, Kaon, and Tal’os, and one day you’ll be their king…”
