Narrator POV

Amaiya was a fifteen year old girl who was living through a depressing life her mom disappeared ever since she was six years old and her dad has abused her both mentally and physically.

She often carried an umbrella in her backpack and always had a plushie that she made in her arms. It had light pink hair and a black outfit with yellow accents.

Amaiya kept it with her for comfort, and would also attempt using it to hide herself whenever a stranger would speak with her.

She was talented when it came to art and music which made her unique, she'd often sell her work to students outside of school, those who bought her works where usually more than happy with the product, it always brought a smile to Amaiya's face to see people were happy with her creations.

Amaiya POV
Today we had to work together for a group project, isn't that just wonderful? I hated working in groups, I never understood why but I've always felt uncomfortable in groups. I let out a sigh as I'm sent to a desk with my partners.

"At least I have you here with me!" I say lifting my plushie friend Luka up to my face.

I giggled at her big smile, and kissed her forehead.

I got nasty looks from my classmates because of this but, somehow I just no longer cared.

I was glad to know that my parents were polite, that was a first.

Each of us worked on a different part of the project, I started writing notes about the topic we were given.

I had gotten bored and from time to time, started doodling on the blank spaces of my notes.

My group members had given me complements on my drawings, saying that I had an adorable little art style. I was always happy to know people liked my works.

The school day had ended and I exchanged numbers with my partners so I could put them all in a group chat to talk about our project. That evening, I had sent everyone a text reading:

"Hello, (name) how are you doing? :D" nobody responded, "do they not like me?" I thought to myself.

After six minutes of over thinking, I got a text back!

It was from Espresso, it read: "Hello, Amaiya. I'm doing great! And you?" I text back "I'm doing alright! Thanks for your interest. :)"

We had some nice chit chat with eachother. He then sent a message that said: "That item you carry with you is quite fascinating. Did you make it yourself?" I lit up as soon as he texted me that! "Yes, I did make it on my own! Her name is Luka."
"That's impressive. Sewing takes quite a lot of time and effort. You're a very talented girl, Amaiya."

I'm not sure why but something about that made me so happy, it felt nice to make a human friend that actually liked me! I started to get tired and headed off to my bed and tucked myself in and put Luka close to my chest, I soon drifted away to sleep
