The next day

"WHAAAAT!!"

Shen Jin put a finger in her ears.

"Rou Rou, no need to shout. You will make me deaf and the whole world can hear you."

"You asked him for a date? YOU!?" Xiao Rou widened her eyes and pointed at Shen Jin, her pitch becoming higher with each word.

"Yes." Shen Jin replied dully.

"What happened after that?" Xiao Su asked before throwing a glance at Xiao Rou. 

Xiao Rou and Shen Jin were sitting on the couch opposite to the TV whereas Xiao Su occupied the separate couch just beside them. Shen Jin and her best friend Xiao Rou shared the same apartment while Xiao Su lived two floors below, in the same building. They were best friends since childhood.

"After that..." Shen Jin paused momentarily, her eyes strayed as if recalling some memory.

"I waited for him for three hours in the cafe."

"And then?" Xiao Su and Xiao Rou neared Shen Jin slowly, curiosity gripping their minds, their eyes narrowing and ears perked in an attempt to hear every word that Shen Jin was going to say next clearly.

"And then..." Shen Jin eyes were still strayed.

"HE DID NOT COME!" 

Xiao Su and Xiao Rou flinched back by Shen Jin's sudden outburst. That was unexpected.

"What did you say? He did not come? HOW DARE HE!?" shrieked Xiao Rou angrily.

"This is the first time since forever that you have shown interest in any guy honestly, and he was that fortunate guy. How could he dump you?"

"Calm down Rou Rou. He might have got sudden work which made him unable to come. And maybe he did not have time to text or call Jin Jin to let her know he can't come. They are still strangers after all." Xiao Su tried to calm his fuming girlfriend.

"Whatever you say Su Su. I don't think that was the right thing for him to do. He said he was free then, how can he get sudden work in the evening by the way? And she also gave him her card, so he definitely has Jin Jin's number. He just did not want to come. Huh! If you did it, I would have broken up with you then and there, you know."

Xiao Su gave an aghast expression.

"Wh..what did you say?" Hurt was evident in Xiao Su's voice.

"You heard exactly what I said Su Su. But it's not time for us to argue about this here. What we need to do is to console Jin Jin."

Xiao Su nodded. Xiao Rou turned to look at Shen Jin, who seemed to be lost in thought.

"Jin Jin?"

"Huh?" She was startled a little.

"What...what were you saying Rou Rou?"

"What are you going to do now?"

Shen Jin groaned miserably. "I don't know. What am I supposed to do when he does not show any interest?"

"Yes. It was a very irresponsible move from the Gene..." Xiao Su and Xiao Rou looked at each other slowly as they both said the same thing in sync. "...ral" Xiao Rou finished the word.

Shen Jin jolted upright.

"What did you two say?"

Xiao Su and Xiao Rou looked at Shen Jin with the same bewildered expression, before turning again to look at one another. Xiao Rou clasped her hand over her mouth momentarily before saying, "What did I just say?" again in sync with Xiao Su. Shen Jin's wide eyes flickered over Rou Rou and Su Su back and forth.

"Do you guys remember anything?" She Jin was starting to get excited now.

Both Rou Rou and Su Su shook their head at the same time, yet again.

"C'mon guys. Try. Why did you say that sentence? Why did you say 'The General'? Do you remember? Something? Anything? Think Guys. Think." Shen Jin threw her hands in air, unable to control her enthusiasm now.

"Wait Jin Jin. What are we supposed to remember?" Rou Rou asked curiously.

"Yes Jin Jin, what do you want us to remember? Wasn't it just a mistake? And oh Rou Rou, my love, we are even thinking the same thing nowadays!" Xiao Su gave a quick hug to Rou Rou getting up from his seat.

"Awww darling! I love you so much." She gave a chef's kiss towards Su Su.

On the other hand, Shen Jin's face fell. 

"They don't seem to remember anything." She murmured, looking at their love exchange.

But what was she supposed to do now? He did not show any interest towards her. Maybe he doesn't even remember her, like Su Su and Rou Rou. She looked over to her best friends, they were now chatting and laughing loudly. Seeing them being lovey-dovey, she felt a tinge of jealousy rising in her mind. They don't even remember their past but destiny still brought them together again. She, on the other hand, yearns for him but still hasn't been able to reach him.

"O destiny, why are you so cruel towards me? Why should it be me to be able to remember everything from my past while all others seem to have forgotten?"
