Calling

Twinkie and I are here at Jackie's house. She cooked some fried chicken so I had to come over and eat some. Plus, I just love spending time with my sister. 

 "Girl you know I'm right," I laughed. 

"Speaking of that, you talked to Karen recently," Jacky asked.

"I haven't talked to her, Drew or Ocean since Tuesday," I answered. 

"Wait I thought yall had lunch Tuesday. What happened," she replied. 

"I don't know. When I was pulling up to the restaurant, Drew called me and told me that something came up. He didn't go into detail about it. Greg and I just turned around and went home and had us nice little movie night," I explained. 

"It's Sunday. Something definitely happened because Karen would have called you by now. We need to check on them and see if everything is okay. How about you call Drew," Jacky suggested. 

I pull out my phone and dial Drew's number. I put it on speaker. It rings, and then it goes to voicemail. 

"He didn't answer. You try calling him. Maybe he'll answer once he sees both of us calling," I spoke. 

Jacky calls him and puts it on speaker. It rings a little longer, but then it just goes straight to voicemail. 

"Yall this negro really not answering," I said. 

"Maybe he's at the office today. You know he don't answer the phone for nobody except Karen and Ocean when he at the office. Try calling Karen or Ocean," Jacky replied. 

"I'll try," I said before dialing Karen's number. 

I put it on speaker. It just goes straight to voicemail which means it's either dead or she just hanging up fast as hell. Imma just gonna go with the theory that phone is dead because Imma get mad if she not answering my phone calls on purpose. I'm just gonna facetime Ocean. She picks up after the second ring.

"Hello," she spoke. 

"O, where is Karen," I asked getting straight to the point. 

"Well Hello to you too Doe. My day is going great even though you didn't ask. My baby is right here sleeping," Ocean answered turning the camera around and showing me Karen laying next to her. 

"O, I'm sorry look why is her phone going straight to voicemail," I asked. 

Jacky walks back into the kitchen.

"It's probably dead, besides she's been asleep since 8 o'clock this morning. I had to wake her up so that she could eat and she just went right back to sleep. My honeybun is tired," Ocean responded. 

"Hey O," Jacky said smiling and waving in the camera. Her and Ocean are partners in crime. 

"Is that my baby mama? Hey Jay," Ocean replied excitedly. 

"While I would love for yall to exhange pleasantries, I haven't heard from my sister in 4 days and she's been sleeping all day. What yall did to my baby sister? That's probably why Drew's ass ain't answered my phone calls," I asked. 

"I think it's best that I let Karen tell you that. I don't feel comfortable putting her business out like that even though yall are her sisters. As for Drew, he's in his study right now. All I'm gonna say is that I didn't do anything that she didn't already want me to do," she explained with a smile. 

"You know what I'm coming over there to see her for myself. Jacky and Twinkie let's go. O, we'll be there in the next 15 minutes," I said. 

"Okay. See yall when you get here," she replied before hanging up.
