It was a regular day. Everyone was outside of our school, Chiston High, during lunch. It was a normal thing that had become a part of our day-to-day lives.
He was there, Donavan, and he looked normal. Nothing was out of place. I was talking with my friend when all of a sudden- "No! No!!! Dont let them see me- please! Dont let them take me!" He screamed, his voice was crisp with panic and his brown eyes were wide with fear.Everything moved so fast, paramedics, police, people with large shields surrounding the person who I vowed to protect. Everyone who had went up to him all had the same reaction, a kick or a punch or something physical in attempts to keep them away.
I remember the pain in his voice, the anxiety weaving through us all in an instant, but Nolan and I were there. His best friends, his own kind even.We were the only two he beckoned forward.
I dont know how he wouldve reacted to his own boyfriend, Ryland, but its safe to say we wouldn't find out for a long time.
He was taken on the 6th of November, 2021. And today, is the anniversary.
