Mrs. Curtis was finishing up her lesson on cells and mitochondrias and other organelles. Not that Charlotte was paying attention. It was almost lunch time. That meant getting to see Mia. Mia had been on Charlotte's mind a lot recently. They had been best friends since the first grade, but recently, something between them had started to feel different. Not in a bad way. Just in a confusing way. Charlotte didn't know what it was, but it felt weird.

"Mia!" called out Mrs. Creese
Mia's head jolted up'
"Pardon?" she replied
"I've asked you nearly 5 times to answer the question."
"Oh yeah, yeah of course. The answer's the Great Irish Potato Famine of 1845." The class laughed. Mia was very confused. "Was that not correct...?"
Mrs. Creese was holding back a smile. "Mia this is math class"
"We haven't even learned about that in history yet!" shouted out a random classmate
"Oh shut it" Mia replied
"Maybe you should start paying attention, Mia" suggested Mrs. Creese
Mrs. Creese was teaching her lesson on slope and whatever. So aka, nothing they'd use in real life. Mia was busy doodling on the corner of her paper, not bothering to take notes. Thanks for the advice though, Mrs. Creese.
