Y/L/N-your last name
Y/N-your first name

5th year
Y/n walked calmly next to Ron, laughing as he and Hermione argued over the last piece of toast at breakfast. Harry turned to her and rolled his eyes.
"I honestly think they need to hurry up and get together already." Harry murmured to Y/n, she laughed back and nudged his shoulder, his smile widened instantly.
"Oi Y/L/N." A voice shouted from behind the four. She spun around to be met with the white blonde Slytherin and his posse of goons. Y/n couldn't help but blush a little as she felt his eyes on her, the way the green of his uniform mixed so well with the black of his clothes.
"Leave her alone, Malfoy." Ron snapped, trying to pull Y/n and Harry away.
"Wasn't talked to you rat boy." Draco snarled, Ron's cheeks turned a bright red. "I was talking to the forgotten fourth. Poor Y/n, always the outcast." The Slytherin's in front of them all cackled, Pansy the loudest of course.
"Shut up Malfoy." Y/n murmured out, a little taken aback by his harsh words. She'd always felt like the third choice. Harry would much rather hang out with Hermione or Ron over her, and she was sure they'd all pick each other before her.

"Wow, very witty." Draco laughed back. "Should we expect more great comebacks from the forgotten one.". Draco continued to tease, the group behind him laughing and screaming. Y/n sent Draco a pained stare and for a second his eyes seemed to soften. She turned on her heel and scuttled off, why was Draco's words hurting so much more? Why did she feel so different this time?
Draco watched as she left, the trio following after. Usually he would shout another insult after them for satisfaction, but this time he couldn't. He couldn't stand looking at her and seeing her so upset, why was this happening to him? Why now?
All he knew was, he got this fluttering feeling in his stomach when he looked at her, and to be honest-he kinda liked it.

6th year-present
Hermione and Ron were walking ahead as Y/n tried to keep up with the pair, looking down at the ice and trying not to slip. And suddenly without any reason she felt a shoulder smack into her and she stumbled backwards, an arm caught her and she yelped out.
"Sorry darlin' I didn't see you there." A deep voice said, she looked up to see a handsome man holding her arm so she wouldn't fall. But he wasn't handsome in a way that attracted her-he just looked nice. She couldn't help but feel guilty about thinking he was handsome, when she knew someone who was much more attractive. The man interrupted her thoughts.
"Are you okay?" He asked and started to look over her body, she nodded back and smiled shyly. "Good, wouldn't want a pretty girl like you getting hurt." She blushed and was about to respond when she was yelled at
"Y/n, come on. Ron wants to goto the joke store as well." Hermione called out as she was being dragged but the red headed boy-trying not to slip in cold, icey weather.
"Sorry, gotta go. And sorry about the slip." She said to the man and jogged off."
"Y/n!"
"Okay okay!" Y/n chuckled back as she tried to keep up. "Hey where's Harry?" Hermione yelped out as Ron pulled so hard she stumbled forward. Ron huffed and waited for her to regain stability.
"Honestly Ronald! You're a child!"Hermione snapped as she fixed her jacket. "I think he's coming later." Ron began to pull Hermione off, Y/n laughed as she watched them both argue and stumble, she turned her head over to see if anyone of her other friends would've seen but she was met with grey eyes starring at her. Draco was leaning against the brick wall of The Three Broomsticks, starting intently.
"Hey, I'll catch up." Y/n shouted after her two lovesick friends. She turned back to Draco to find him walking towards her. A little startled, the butterflies began to dance in her stomach. He cleared his throat as he stood in front of her.
"Uh, Y/n." He mumbled. "I-I just wanted to say sorry. For everything. I just didn't mean to be so harsh." Y/n cocked her brow, giving the blonde a once over.
"Didn't meant to? So it was an accident then?" She asked, folding her arms over her chest. Draco's cheeks reddened, he looked embarrassed and flustered.
"Yeah-well no." He sighed out and rubbed his face with one hand, clearly frustrated. "Look. I used to think it was funny to say mean things to you and now, well actually for a while now i realised how much I hate saying that stuff to you." Y/n's eyes were wide. What was he confessing too? Was this another sick joke?

"And then I saw that guy touch you and I felt so, so... so angry and I realised that after all this time, I need to tell you how I feel." Draco was looking at the floor. She had never seen him so shy. He glanced up at her waiting for her to say something.
"You don't have to say anything." He mumbled back, turning to walk away. She realised that she had just been standing there and quickly reached out for him so he wouldn't leave.
"Wait!" She said quickly. "Draco, I have feelings for you too." His cheeks reddened and a smile, a real and genuine smile crossed his face. Y/n noticed how nice he looked when he smiled. He looked down at her hand on his arm, looking back into her eyes.
"But, that doesn't mean anything can happen Draco. My friends and your friends and you're family would be so-
"Angry." Draco finished her sentence. He sighed and kicked the snow beneath his feet. A wicked grin suddenly crossed his lips. "Unless they don't find out."
