My first day in California

The sun only just rising and the sky beautiful as ever, I woke up feeling totally refreshed and content. The reason why is because I got accepted to do a role for a new movie in California. The flight is going to be long as I do live in London.

It was 5am and I had to leave by 6am so I shot up out of bed and made my bed. I practically ran to my wardrobe picking out outfits upon outfits for the time I'm going to be there in California. I also had to pack some books for the journey. Today I went for low rise flare jeans with a lace trim cami top with a dark blue drop shoulder cardigan. I then got my converse and put everything on my bed and got in the shower.

I washed my hair and myself fairly quickly. I rushed out getting changed and then curling and styling my hair into half up half down with my two bangs out. I left quickly with the biggest smile on my face. I ran with my bag and my suitcase to the airport. I wanted to get there early since I have had no breakfast or coffee. All i did was grab a Frappuccino and a croissant for breakfast.

I got there about 5:45 and I waited for my flight. Time flew by and before I knew it, it was 5:58 giving me enough time to get to my plane. When I saw the plane my eyes shot open with excitement. It was beautiful, I know it's weird for a plane to be beautiful but it was from the outside to the inside.

I gave the flight attendants my suitcase and kept my bag with me. Sitting down at the back because I never liked the front, I always felt like there were eyes on me. I put one earphone in and read my favourite book 'one of us is lying'. As I was reading a tall, dark haired man in a leather jacket tapped my shoulder. 'Do you mind if I sit here' he said in a calm manner. 'No, absolutely sit here I don't mind' I said getting back to my book.

'So you're going to California too' he said looking at me. 'Yes I am it's for a job opportunity and I'm willing to take it' I say confidently knowing I already had the job I got accepted this morning. 'Why are you going?' I asked. He looked at me with a smile on his face. 'I only came to England to stay there but I also got a job opportunity. How weird is that' he said. I just looked at him and smiled. 'I guessed by the accent you were not from any part of the UK anyway' I said smiling.

The rest of the journey was boring but nice and quaint. I didn't finish my book because I fell asleep halfway there. We finally stopped and I got my bag and my stuff then left the person who sat next to me came up to me and whispered. 'Thank you for the company my dear I hope to see you again someday' I smiled as he walked past.

He was the sweetest but I got back to my day and checked into dorm. My parents gave me the money to get a good rated one with the best view. I ran to my room putting my things down before making things feel like home. I was going to be here a while so I had to make it feel like home. I brought my plants, books and my pillows. Most importantly a photo of my and my parents. Since I was an only child it was lonely growing up but I had the one thing I needed, my parents.

I found the wardrobe and put all of my outfits in it along with my shoes. I dashed to the bathroom laying out all of my hair, body and face products. I put my led lights over my ceiling, then covering them in cotton to look like clouds, it was nice and comfy made me feel like I was in the sky. I played some music and went to the kitchen.

I got all of the food out and put it in the right places. It was now 6 o'clock so I threw on an oversized tee and sorted out the few final bits and pieces. I put on a face mask and tied my hair back and I danced around the kitchen cooking a french dish called Boeuf bourguignon. I used one of my mother's old recipes from when I was a child. Since I came from a french family, we grew up with Boeuf bourguignon but I have always loved it.

Whilst it was cooking I washed my face mask off and then dished myself a portion. There was spare so I put it in the fridge for lunch tomorrow. I sat down and ate my food whilst watching midsommar. After I was finished I washed up as usual and cleaned myself up and lay in bed and thought about meeting that man earlier today. He was sweet, unlike a lot of his I've dated before and talked to. He didn't seem like a total asshole, he seemed sweet and kind to say the least.

I stopped overthinking tomorrow and just decided to try and sleep. Trying to sleep wasn't easy when all I could think about was this man. Trouble is, I never caught his name.
