The after-show high you were feeling kept a small smile playing on your lips as you breathed in the cool night air after spending a few hours squeezed in a crowd of people watching Palaye Royale rock out on stage, happy for the first time in a long time as you got to spend time by yourself and be surrounded by people that loved the band as much as you did. It was nice to feel as though you fit in somewhere in this world.
The venue was somewhere around the corner as you wandered the streetlamp-lit streets, happiness thrumming through you as you delayed going back home, debating whether to simply stay out all night and go back when your parents had already left for work. Finding a grass verge on the edge of a parking lot you sat yourself down and closed your eyes, tilting your head back so your face was revealed to the sky, smiling as the experience continued to run through your head.
"That's the look of happiness if I've ever seen it." The slight raspy voice sounded familiar as you opened your eyes, briefly gazing up at the inky blue sky and bright stars before lowering your head to look at the person who had disturbed your thoughts, feeling a jolt in your chest as the singer of the band you'd just seen stood a few feet away with a slight grin on his lips. "You alright out here, love?"
"I'm perfect at the moment, thank you." His grin widened and he crouched down on the balls of his feet to be on your level. "And thank you for an amazing show, it's been a while since I felt that free."
"Thank you for coming out to see us." He smiled, reaching out and offering his hand which prompted you to reach out and delicately place your hand into his warm palm, feeling the metal of his rings brush against your skin as his hand enclosed around yours. "What's your name?"
"(Y/n)."
"I'm glad we could make you this happy, (y/n)." You grinned at him and you thought you saw his eyes widen ever so slightly, but brushed it off as your own eyes playing tricks on you.
"Remington!" His head snapped back to look round at the sound of his name being yelled, causing him to tip backwards off balance which had you tightening your grip on his hand and using your other to grab his forearm to steady him, finding his dark brown eyes looking at you once more as he smiled in thanks before standing up, his hand still holding onto yours.
"I think they're waiting for you."
"Yeah. Are you sure you're okay here?"
"I'm good, I promise." you gave him a smile before loosening your grip on his hand, your hands slipping free of one another's as he stepped back, watching him turn and begin jogging towards where the voice had sounded, looking back over his shoulder and giving you a grin which had you waving at him before he disappeared from view around the corner. "I think I'll stay here until morning."

Your eyes were shining due to how happy you were, cheering as Palaye Royale had just finished their set and the concert came to an end, managing to wiggle your hand into your pocket and tug out a delicately folded piece of paper, hoping to give it to one of them as they thanked the crowd at the front of the stage. Your arm stretched up towards the stage as you were only one line behind the barrier, biting the inside of your bottom lip as you prayed one of them would see you, your breath hitching as your prayer seemed to be answered. Emerson smiled at you and plucked the paper from your fingers before putting a rose in its place, seeing him mouth 'thank you' before he threw the rest of the flowers he had in his hand to the crowd, watching as he slipped the piece of paper into his pocket before doing so.
