“Hajiman nan geuleogo sipji anh-a!” [But I don't want to!]
I felt cold all over my body and heat in my head. I feel like I will explode because of what my family wants to happen again. I could not accept and did not want to accept the not so shocking news that reached me.
“A-pppa...” Lines of my tears flowed as I turned to my dad. “Uliga... ileohge haeya hanayo? Daleun bangbeob-eun eobsnayo?” [Dad, do we have to do this? Is there no other way?]
He didn't answer me, he just remained silent and kept his gaze turned to the floor.
“Daleun bangbeob-eun eobs-seubnida.” [There is no other way.] It was my mom who answered me. “Jasin-ui iig-eul wihae haeya habnida.” [You have to do it for your own good.]
“Jebal Ria, nan tto daleun jamaeleul ilhgo sipji anh-a jebal uliga malhan daelo hae.” [Please Ria, I don't want to lose another sister so please, just do what we said.] Kuya who was in front of me also spoke, convincing me to make me leave as they wanted to happen.
“Ani geunde wae oppaneun yeogi nwadugo museun il-i il-eonaneunji cheolihadolog nwaduneun geonde, naneun wae an doebnikka?” [But why do you just let my brother be left here and deal with what's happening, why can't I?] I insist irritably.
“Igeon daleun gyeong-uya, Ria, naega gamdanghal su iss-eo.” [This is a different case, Ria, I can handle myself.]
“Geuleom naneun geuleohge hal su eobsnayo? Naleul gyesog agicheoleom kiumyeon na-ege galeuchin geos-i museun soyong-i issgessneunga?” [And so I can't? What's the point of what you taught me if you keep babying me?]
“Jebal, uli mal jom deul-eojuseyo. geugeos-eun dangsin-ui baljeon-eul wihan geos-ibnida.” [Just please, just listen to us. It's for your betterment.]
“G-geuge dangsin-i hangsang malhaneun geoyeyo...” [That's what you always say.] I bowed my head and just sat down on the back of my legs unable to argue after his insistent; buried my face in my palms and cried even more.
Manang Rosana, who was by my side, approached me, hugged me and tried to hold me like a baby who doesn't want to stop crying. “Mag-listen na lang sa iyong kuya, 'nak. Hm... tahan na... para sa'yo 'to, matutuwa rin ang ate mo kung gagawin mo ito.”
My sister....
Upon remembering my sister Elvira, I started crying even more. My sister... she vanished four years ago as a result of callous people who kill innocent people in order to obtain money. Those demons... I abhor them! Reason why my family wants to send manang and I to the Philippines, they don't want me to disappear either.
Though, in all honesty, I was enjoying my life, not until suddenly it soon became threatened. Threats to my life have been made; a red liquid stain with an unpleasant stench was present in a black box containing letters tied with a white ribbon. Those threats, which weirdly included broken kid's toys, were directed at me.
And on every thing that was sent to me, there was a kinda huge red X sign that I thought was the sign of that audacious creature.
It was a series of such sendings that really angered dad—especially kuya.
They tried, several times, but no matter how tight the security was, someone still gets freakng through. They already suspected that there was some impostor wandering around us, giving information to whoever ordered him, and reason why the precautions that were taken were tripled.
