[In the middle off Ross' and Rachel's fight]
„Ross, what do you want? Do you want me to quit my job so you can have a girlfriend?"
"No! But I want you to remember that its just a job!"
"JUST a job?"
"Yes."
"Ross, do you realize that this is the first time in my life im doing something I care about?
This is the first time in my life im doing something I'm actually good at! I mean if you dont get that-"
"Hey, I get that! I get that big time and I'm happy for you but im tired of having a relationship with your answering machine, ok? I dont know what to do anymore!"
"Neither do I!"
Ross hesitates before he asks the next question.
"...Is this about Mark?"
"Oh my god.."
He knew in this moment that it wasn't and that he shouldn't have doubted Rachel.
"Okay its not."
"OH my god! I cant keep having the same fight over and over, Ross. NO, youre making this too hard."
"Oh fine, I'M making this too hard?? Ok, what do you want me to do?"
"I dont know! Look, maybe we should just take a break."
He sighed.
"Ok, ok fine, you're right. Lets take a break, let's cool off, get some frozen yoghurt or something..."
„Ok. Let's do that..."
She grabbed her coat and followed him out the door.
On their way to the frozen yoghurt place, neither of them talked, unsure of the others feelings. When they arrived, they both chose a flavor and topping and Ross paid for both of them. It was strawberry flavor with vanilla sauce and sliced berries for Rachel and chocolate with caramel sauce and cookie crumbs for Ross. When Rachel was halfway done, Ross had already finished his long ago and started talking:
"Sorry, Rach... I wasn't really thinking when we argued earlier. You know, I just really missed you lately and especially today on our anniversary so I got upset and said stupid stuff. Please believe me that I'm so happy for you and that you finally have a job you like."
"You weren't the only one that didn't think tonight", she chuckled,"I let my job take in so much of my life, too much, that I forgot about the most important part of my life. You. I promise I'll focus more on you from now on and I will make up for ruining our anniversary."
"Oh, come on! You didn't ruin it, although I planned something for tonight, that kinda won't work out the way I imagined it now..."
"What were you planning on doing?"
"Well...I was going to take you to Central Park to this little pavillion near the lake, right when the sun would go down between the skyscrapers, right when the sun would shine into your beautiful face. And then...then I would have knelt down on one knee like this:"
As he said these last words, he knelt down, looking up at her and continued to speak while Rachel, who could imagine what would come next was too stunned to speak.
"...and now I would take this little box out of my pocket and then, being incredibly nervous and probably sweating like hell I would ask you to marry me."
He opened the box he retrieved from his pocket and looked at her with his wonderful dark eyes.
"And I guess all I planned doesn't matter, cause in the end you and this question is all that matters. Well, your answer is pretty important too, but-"
He was cut of by Rachel, who knelt down in front of him and kissed him.
"Yes. A thousand times yes. I can't believe this stupid fight almost ruined this, almost ruined all that we had."
"You can't believe how happy you make me right now. Just imagine how different this day could have ended. What if we had broken up or something. God, I love you."
"I love you too"A/N: I really hope you liked this little OS! Tell me your opinion :)
(I wish it would have been like this :{ )
