I followed the knight across the drawbridge, through the doors and inside the castle. I was led into a large room filled with two long tables and decorations of garlands, lights, wreaths, holly may blossoms, and much, much more! There, at the end of the room, sat the king on his throne made of gold and gems of rubies, emeralds, diamonds, amethysts, topazs, cobalts, and opals. He was sitting on red velvet cushioning sewn to his throne and a lovely crown of gold and jewels, much like his throne, was perched on his head but his scowly frown was not as pleasant. He looked concerned, scared, or, upset? Maybe, both? Or all! He had a loud booming voice and a surprised or frustrated tone? That I did not like about him. He seemed to be yelling at someone. We got closer to the room and I saw he was yelling at... him! The man I had found trying to kill the so-called "Beast". The King looked up the moment he saw the knight walking in on him with me closely following behind him. And the man turned around to see where his King was looking.
"Sire, so sorry to disturb you, but we found this young lady out on the drawbridge requesting to speak with you!" exclaimed the knight.
"Your majesty-" I started, but was abruptly interrupted as he ordered the knight to take me out for a moment to finish his discussion in private.
"Yes, sire... right this way Miss," and I followed him out the room and sat down. Moments later, the doors creaked open, and the young man turned to glare towards me before walking off down the corridor. The king appeared in the doorway and ushered me to come with him into the throne room.
"I apologize for the inconvenience, miss. I am King Tourensce of Bosfetovianel! How may I be of help to you this afternoon?" asked the king.
"Your highness," I said with a little curtsy, "I have noticed one, be trying as they might to slay a dragon up on the great hill due North of your town." I explained, trying my best to sound royal, and as respectful as I could.
"I see... who might this "one", you speak of, be?"
"You see, your highness, I have, but not a clue myself, and as considering your town lay on the South edge of this great hill, I ask of you to see if you might have of any knowledge towards this certain incident."
"I am, but sorry to disappoint you Miss, but, I have not heard of this, up until this very moment in time."
"Well, as to say, you have, but no knowledge of this situation, I find it best to be on my way now. I thank you for your time, might I see you again, your highness?"
"It was my pleasure, Miss. I am, once again, sorry I could not be of any help to you," He finished with a bow, I curtsied and then I walked off, out of the castle, down past the village, and out towards where I saw the dragon last. Where I'd hoped to find more clues.
