Chapter 21: Will You Be My GF?
(This chapter is dedicated to imsadexe <3)

July 2nd; two days until the 4th.

I woke up late. The clock on my nightstand said that it was past twelve and Katsuki was nowhere in my room which indicated that he hadn't bothered to wake me up. We'd always wake one another up before it got too late in the morning, but he didn't that time, not even after everything he'd said to me last night. I guess he just wanted to hide his feelings from me, which is why I was the one who had to confront him because he obviously wouldn't.

So, full of joy, I crawled out of bed and stretched before walking out of my room, in search for him. I didn't have to look very much because to my delight, he was just exiting the bathroom. We locked eyes for about two seconds before he walked away and into the living room. At that point, I couldn't take it anymore. I had to ask him if what he'd said was true, "Katsuki, about last night—"

Suddenly, my phone rang from my room, "You should go answer that," he walked into the kitchen. Either my phone ringing was a sign that I had to wait until later to talk to him, or it was a complete coincidence, meaning that the universe hated me.

"Who the fuck is calling me?!" I murmured as I walked back into my room. When I picked my phone up, the caller shown was mom. I answered it, "Hey mom, what's up?" She was probably on her break at work because she never called me like that.

"Hi hun! The neighbors just called to ask if you could go over and babysit their kids, you know, Myah and Mason, while they run out for a couple hours," she paused, waiting to hear an answer from me. I thought about it and decided it would be a good way to get things between Katsuki and I back to normal.

"Okay, I'll do it. Should I go over there now?" I asked. She told me yes, and to bring snacks for the kids.

Even though I was only going next door and didn't need to wear anything fancy, I wanted to make a good impression on Katsuki, so I wore my favorite pair of high waisted shorts and a cute little white spaghetti strapped crop top.

When I finished getting ready, I went back to look for him and asked if he wanted to come along, hoping with all my heart that he'd say yes. "I think I'll stay here," his eyes lingered everywhere but on me. If I was as ignorant as I was a few days before then, I wouldn't have considered that he didn't look at me because he was afraid his emotions would go out of control.

"Oh, okay." I called out for Mighty and picked him up knowing that the kids would enjoy seeing him. I didn't even bother looking back when I exited the house. What was there to see but an ungrateful boy who was scared to admit that he liked me back.

When I got to my neighbor's house, I was greeted by Mrs. Wilson and her two eight year old kids whom I babysat just about every summer. I actually enjoyed watching after those kids, they weren't as troublesome as their mom made them out to be. Probably because I was such a great sitter.

After Mr. and Mrs. Wilson left, me and the kids sat in their living room and they both showed Mighty lots of affection; he was in belly rub paradise. "Hey, Y/n, why are you so prettied up?" Myah asked. I hesitated to answer, "Oh, well, I guess I'm just in the mood to look good for once!" She smiled and gave me a thumbs up. Then suddenly Mason ran his fingers through my hair, "You always look good Y/n!" He blushed. That little guy had always had a thing for me, I thought it was so cute.

"Do you wanna watch a movie?" I asked. They nodded and searched for something on Netflix together while I grabbed my bag to take something out. I almost tore it apart trying to find the snacks I'd thought I put in it, but then I realized I left them back at my place. Of course I could've asked if they had any snacks in their cabinets, but I actually wanted to surprise them with their favorite treats of mine; Scooby-Doo graham cracker sticks.
