(A/N hi! I do not know what I'm doing AT All but i think this will be fun!! Anyway enjoy, I hope?)

(Alex's pov)

"I... I think we're here!"
I glance out the window where Eliza is looking, and see a large building with a kind of courtyard in the middle and housing around the outside. She stares at it, biting her lip, and I pat her shoulder awkwardly to try comfort her.
" Right, kids, I guess I'll be going now then" Eliza's father Phillip sighs, as we step out of the car. He's not that sentimental, as you can probably tell. He gives his daughter a quick hug and pats my back in that 'were both men and don't do girly shit like hugging' kind of way. Personally, I could really do with a hug right now. This is fucking terrifying AND I need to tell Eliza soon.
Soon. That's what you always say
I try to push the thought of telling her out of my mind and force a smile at her
"Let's go get our dorm keys, babe!"
We wave her dad off and go collect our keys

"wait!! This.. This can't be right? Alex, we're not in the same dorm!!"
A large part of me is screaming in delight but I plaster on a concerned face and say
"oh no! That's so unfortunate, how far away are we from each other??"
That's unfortunate???? Wow so much sympathy Alex gee you really care about your girlfriend
"I'm room 1854 and you're room 1804. We're 50 rooms apart from each other!!"
(does anyone get this??? Anyone?? No? OK)
Her face falls and I feel bad for being excited about it. Anxiety settles in. This means I'll be rooming with someone I don't know!!
"actually" the lady at the desk who gave us the keys piped up "those rooms are only a very short distance away from each other. We have a very odd system here!"
Eliza looks slightly happier and I smile at the woman. We thank her and go searching for our dorms.

"Angelica and Peggy are arriving tomorrow" Eliza tells me, showing me a text from her dad
We couldn't all come at the same time because, although the schuyler's were the richest people I know, Phillip claimed that "he wasn't going to waste his money on a stupid thing like a car" and instead wasted his money on his three daughters. Basically, his car was tiny and couldn't fit all of us in.
Just then, Eliza stopped in her tracks and squealed. I stared at her, confused and she pointed to two dark skinned boys holding hands, one with a poofy high ponytail and one wearing a rainbow striped bandana.
"HERC AND LAF!!!" she screamed excitedly, and they noticed her and ran towards us, practically tripping over themselves. The three of them hugged and I stood there like an idiot, wondering what the hell was going on.
"OHMIGOD I HAVEN'T SEEN YOU TWO IN YEARS HOW ARE YOU EVEN HERE??"
"Mon ami!! You think we are not clever enough to be at Kings Uni?" the poofy hair guy said, acting offended
"no!!!!" Eliza laughed "I just haven't seen you two in so long and - oh! Alex! Let me introduce you!"
I awkwardly fiddled with my hair and glanced at the boys
"Alex, this is hercules and lafayette. We were best friends at the start of high school but then they left and never got in touch" she sniffed at them who glanced guiltily at each other.
"Herc and laf, this is my boyfriend Alex!"
I winced I knew that I WAS her boyfriend, but I still hated the way it sounded.
"hi!" I looked at them, REALLY looked, at the way they were holding hands, hercules' rainbow bandana, their matching bracelets "hey, are you guys dating?"
They blushed profusely and turned to Eliza, who was staring at them in confusion.
"are you?" she asked curiously
They turned to each other, still blushing, and nodded
Me and Eliza had the exact same reaction
"YOU LOOK SO PERFECT TOGETHERRRR!"
This time we both hugged them and they smiled at me
"mon ami" lafayette said to me "I think we're going to be great friends" :)

A/N I feel like the tense has been like super mixed up in this first chapter, for some reason I always randomly change tense, I hope it didn't affect the story too much. Also, don't worry, Alex will meet John soon :D
