As rain hit the ground in great, big drops, Hermione Granger hurried to the entrance to the Ministry of Magic. The streets were filled with umbrellas as Hermione splashed through the throng, hurrying to get to her interview on time. She wasn't late, she was actually an hour early, but her nerves made her rush; Hermione wasn't one to be late to something so important as to a possible job.

Breathe, you have nothing to be worried about.

Her brain soothed as she brushed pass person after person, muttering apologies as she went. She stepped into the lavatory that was used for entering the Ministry, a small shiver trailed down her spine as memories of the last time she used this method drifted through her mind.

The battle had only ended three years ago, things were much calmer now, but there was still the occasional news report of another escaped Death Eater being caught after causing a disturbance. Hermione had returned to Hogwarts once it was reopened, receiving nothing but Outstandings in each class she'd taken, and now she was off to the Ministry to find a position.

The green flames licked at her heels as she stepped out of the fireplace and into the busy sea of employees, the Ministry had been reconstructed and remodeled after the Death Eaters were driven out, but at the sight of the newly constructed statue in the atrium, Hermione couldn't help but shiver. Hermione looked around as she walked along with the swarm of employees heading to the lifts that would lead them to their offices, Hermione pulled out her notebook where she'd written down all the information she needed. It was only eight and her meeting wasn't until ten, with a small smile Hermione hurried to the lifts to be taken to the second level.

"Fancy seeing you here today.....Granger."

Until now Hermione had only felt nervous, but after hearing the very familiar voice, she felt herself freeze and a flash of anger surged through her body. She hadn't heard this voice for three years, the last time she'd heard it, he was brandishing his wand at Harry Potter and herself. Hermione slowly turned her head over her shoulder, her eyes gazing upon the smug look on Draco Malfoy's face. Had Hermione actually paid attention as she stepped into the lift instead of putting her notebook in her purse, she would've noticed that Malfoy was standing there.

"Ferret," Hermione muttered, returning her attention to the closed door of the lift, trying to prevent the jostling of the carriage from jerking her around.

"What brings you here?" Draco asked calmly, shuffling the stack of papers he was currently carrying.

Hermione only scoffed as the lift doors opened onto her floor, she tossed Draco a deadly glare before pushing off on her heel and leaving as quickly as possible. The Auror office was alive with energy as people walked around, stopping at desks to drop something off, pick something up, and hurry on their way.

"Mione!" Hermione turned to see Harry hurrying toward him, "I thought your meeting with Kingsley wasn't until ten."

"It is,  I just....." Hermione shrugged, giving a small smile as she followed Harry to his cubicle that had a stack of papers sitting in a wire basket. "Uhm....is Ronald around?"

"He went off to get ready for our training today," Harry gave an apologetic look as Hermione nodded. "You have no need to be so worried," Harry assured her.

Hermione puffed out her cheeks and nodded, letting her breath out slowly, "yeah.....you're right....I think I'm going to walk around a bit.....clear my head before the meeting."

"Kingsley knows you, stop worrying," Harry smiled slightly, waving off his friend as Hermione walked back to the lifts, feeling worse than before.
