Sometimes he was tough, other times calm.
But he was always sad, and held something in his palm.
He put it to his face, so that he could see.
And then he became who he chose to be.
Life was good when he was not him, but he could still feel all of their sins.
When he was not him, there was one thought he could always see.
And that thought was: "This is not me."
