A tall, muscled Doberman Pincher, Chain, padded around in circles, sniffing the air tentatively. She sat down on her haunches for barely two seconds before limping off to a dog house with a small, cozy basket full of blankets inside.
She whimpered quietly, trying to not attract attention from the other fierce dogs. She knew the puppies were on their way out, and to keep them safe, the other dogs had to not notice she was having pups. The only dog who knew so far was Gale, the dog she had mated with.
Chain kicked, pushing her nose against the basket, and trying not to bark with pure terror and pain.
It happened almost to quickly; the pups were now out, whining softly, and starting to cuddle up next to their mother-dog. She breathed heavily, her tong out and panting. The largest male was squirming around, before she slammed him down with a mighty paw, and he stopped wiggling. the smallest female didn't move much, and the other two pups snuggled up against each other.
She gave a small, sharp bark, summoning her mate. He trotted into the house, and he peered over the basket to see the pups. Four fine pups squealed and yipped."Two males, two female," He noted. "Not bad. But--" He looked over at the smallest pup--a little female. "There's a weakling here. What a depressing sight."
(One thing you have to know about Fierce dogs, in this book, is that they aren't nice. They definitely won't like runts. In real life they can be very nice and loyal and kind. CAUTION: If you don't like death, you can skip to the next chapter.)
The mother-dog lifted up her head, realizing the pup's small appearance. "Quite." She growled, before biting into the runt's neck.
The runt's blood oozed out onto her sibling's fur. The pup shivered, trying to move away from the sticky body. The pups yapped, squealing with fright. "Take that out of here, Gale. To the forest. Or--" She licked her chops. "Take it to the food storage. She isn't much, but she will make a good appetizer."
Gale dipped his head, snatching the limp body up in his jaws, and padding away.
Sorry this chapter was short. I just wanted to get to the part where the pups can see.
