Noticed (Canada x Reader)
You let your (h/l), (h/c) cover your face as you looked down. You shuffled past people meekly in the hallway, as you were too shy to even try and say anything to any of them. Some of them noticed you, but most of them didn't. You frowned as someone bumped into your arm, pulling it away from the books that you had just gotten from the library. You sighed and knelt down to pick them up. 'I wish they wouldn't do that...' You thought sadly, gathering the books back up into your arms and standing up, trying to fade once more into the crowd. As more and more people left the hallways, you found yourself relaxing and sighing in relief. You loved it when there weren't that many people around. You liked people, but they tended to be a little cruel. Even unintentionally.
You raised your head up so that you could look around a bit more, now that so many people weren't crowding you all around. You pulled your jacket sleeve down as you began to reach for the exit door's handle so that you could sit under your favorite tree and read, but some loud voices stopped you first. You winced as Alfred F. Jones's voice began to ring throughout the hallway you were in. Their footsteps echoed closer, and you were more determined than ever to open that door. You did not want to have to deal with the popular crowd that day. 'Almost there!' You thought in triumph as your hand came in contact with the metal of the door handle. And then all of the sudden:
"Hey Alfred! Look! It's (y/n)!" One of them exclaimed, and your (e/c) eyes widened. Suddenly, you were being attacked.... Or in Alfred's mind; hugged.
"A-Alfred!!! P-Please l-let m-me g-go...." You asked politely, and he did as you said, beaming down at you.
"You should really come and hang out with us today, dudette! It'll be so much fun!" He exclaimed happily. You cringed at his tone of voice and looked away shyly. You happened to look just behind Alfred, where there was a boy who happened to look remarkably like Alfred himself, but entirely different. Alfred had beach-blonde hair and a cowlick, with baby blue eyes. He always wore a brown bomber jacket along with some black jeans and a black T-shirt. This other boy had blonde hair as well, but it was a lighter shade and longer. His hair lacked the cowlick but had incorporated a long curl instead, and his hair looked soft to the touch. His face was practically angelic, his skin a milky white. His eyes were a beautiful blue color, again different from Alfred's. He was wearing a turquoise hoodie along with some blue jeans. At that moment, he looked rather frustrated as he was trying to get their attention and they just kept ignoring him, as if they didn't even know he was there. You blushed and looked away as you realized that you were staring. He was desperately trying now to get the attention of some of the other people, whom he hadn't tried to get the attention of yet, who were also rudely ignoring him. Alfred had turned around to try and figure out what you were staring at. He was confused.
"Hey, (y/n), what were you looking at? There's nothing there, dudette!" He said. You felt upset that no one could see the poor boy, and you had a feeling that they weren't joking either.
"H-He's r-right there! H-He's trying t-to ask y-you guys s-something and y-you're ignoring h-him..." You informed them meekly. The boy looked at you in surprise as you made yourself known. They looked at the space that the boy was in. Alfred squinted and then got all happy.
"Oh! Hey there, Mattie bro!!!" He greeted the boy and you sighed in relief, but not for long. Matthew opened his mouth to speak, but Alfred began laughing.
"Hahahahaha! Mattie, I'm so sorry I didn't see ya there, dude! You gotta speak up!" He continued, and you felt slightly annoyed. 'Mattie' tried to speak again, but Alfred kept running his mouth.
"Man, you won't believe what happened the other-" He began, but for the first time in your life, you decided to interrupt him.
"A-Alfred! Be quiet!" You demanded, and he gave you a surprised look.
"What?" He asked dumbly. You glared at him, but you felt more shy now that everyone was staring at you.
"He w-was t-trying to ask y-you something, but y-you won't be q-quiet for him t-to say anything!" You exclaimed, and Alfred looked a little ashamed. You turned to the boy shyly, not knowing what to call him, mostly because Mattie seemed like more of a nickname. "S-So was t-there something y-you needed?" You asked, looking away a bit. He smiled just as shyly.
"W-Well.... I'm new, s-so I was wondering i-if Alfred would take m-me to the office, because he's my brother...." He said quietly. You loved his voice. It was light and airy. It was gentle. You blushed at the invading thoughts and shook your head slightly to clear them.
"I-If you d-don't mind.... I can take y-you...." You suggested. Alfred and the others had quickly lost interest and had walked away when Matthew had begun talking. There was a new brightness in Matthew's eyes as you spoke, and he nodded happily. You smiled shyly at him and began to walk him to the office.
"S-So... Uhm... What's your name, if you don't m-mind my asking?" He asked meekly. You smiled and let your (h/c) hair shade your face again.
"I'm (y-y/n) (l/n)..." You trailed off. You saw him smile out of the corner of your eye.
"Your n-name is very beautiful, (y/n)... My name is Matthew. M-Matthew Williams." He stuttered out shyly with a blush on his face. You blushed as well.
"T-Thank you.... Y-Your name suits you as w-well...." You complimented quietly. He smiled happily.
"Thank you." He said, and you reached the door to the principal's office.
"Here it is. I h-hope you like i-it here." You said, turning to face him. He smiled at you, different from the shy ones he had given you earlier. His smile made you feel like you were melting on the inside and a blush crept up onto your cheeks.
"I think I'll like it a lot here, now that I've met you." He stated, not a trace of shyness left in his voice, looking straight into your (e/c) eyes with his gorgeous blue ones. You smiled, looking down.
"T-Then, I'm really happy..." You said and he looked even happier. He gave you a quick hug before opening the office door and disappearing inside. As soon as he left, you missed him. You had a feeling that your life was about to get a whole lot better. You bit your lip, smiling girlishly to yourself and ducked your head down as you made your way back through the crowd so that you could go outside and read. You looked the same way that you had before, but everything was different on the inside. Nobody could do anything to change how happy you were at that moment, or even the happiness that you would feel in the future.
