Royally Rude Sleepover

To keep herself busy, Freya decided to brew some potions in Cedric's workshop. Then she remembered Cedric never lets her touch his potion equipment without supervision and only taught her spells. Freya grumbled. She took out her books. One of them was a book describing various potions and their ingredients. It was quite interesting really, the only issue was that Freya wanted to do some practical work. She looked up. Cedric was actually preparing to make a potion himself.

Freya twirled her wand around, doing a levitation spell and mumbling the words. She watched the cushion she enchanted float around for a bit until the iconic purple princess knocked at the door, distracting both Freya and Cedric. Cedric toppled over from his ladder, landing on the upper floor of the tower, while Freya dropped her cushion, stirring up a storm of feathers. Wormwood squawked loudly, flying upwards to escape the feather cloud. Freya opened the door, and Princess Sofia let herself in.

"What are you doing here, princess?" Cedric asked. Sofia said to Freya, "So, Amber and I are having a slumber party tomorrow. Wanna come?" Freya froze. No one ever invited her before. And how was she supposed to turn the 8 year old princess down? She looked adorable. "Umm... sure?" Freya answered awkwardly, scratching her head with her wand. "Great!" Sofia smiled in content, and left. Cedric commented, "Being in a warmer kingdom has made you soft." "Oh very funny sir.".

The next day Freya watched things happening in her mirror. Nothing exciting was happening, and her wintry room had nothing more than an icy floor and a snow-covered bed. For someone who hated living in Freezenburg Freya definitely had Freezenburg things in the room, especially with Freezenburg's flower, the snowdrop, patterned on most of her dresses. Guess you can take the girl out of Freezenburg but you can't take the Freezenburg out of the girl.

Freya caught wind that the slumber party would be in the observatory. Interesting how the king is just letting a bunch of children run wild in there. She went up to the workshop and saw Cedric polishing a new crystal ball. Shiny. Cedric and Wormwood stared at it as Cedric polished it. "Oh hello apprentice you can just clean out the beakers and cauldron over there first I'll need it later." said Cedric. Freya obliged. Just then the door knocked, causing the ball to shake and drop. Freya magically caught it with a bouncing spell in time to keep from shattering, but not fast enough, as it hit Cedric's foot before bouncing. Cedric yelled while hopping on one foot as the king and queen came in.

"Cedric. Freya." the king addressed. "Majesties." Freya said giving a small curtsy, "King Roland, Queen Miranda." said Cedric, holding out his sore foot looking like a fool. Wormwood rolled his eyes on his perch. King Roland said, "The girls are having a slumber party tonight." Cedric said, "Oh I can already hear the endless giggling now. My apprentice Freya here was even invited." Freya turned pink. "Oh that's lovely Freya." said Queen Miranda, "And we were wondering if you could do a little, magic show for them Cedric." "You want, your em, royal sorcerer, to em, entertain the children?" Cedric said slowly in disbelief. Freya said in disapproval, "But your majesties, why not get magicians or your jester instead?" King Roland said, "We actually did want the jester, but he's out sick. What say, 8 o' clock in the royal playroom? And could you do a few card tricks? You know children love card tricks.".

"Your majesties, may I say something?" Freya said. "Of course." "Yeah you're not fooling anyone with the card tricks, even James figured out the trick after the 19th time when I showed him the other day." "Well alright then, we won't be needing card tricks.". And the royals left. Freya said, "You owe me a potion lesson for helping you get rid of the card tricks. Magic show indeed!" "Could have gotten rid of the whole magic show while you were at it." "Hey, this is an opportunity to get the Amulet of Avalor you know." "My goodness you're right apprentice! The only question, is how?".
