Hey guys! I did have a story on here called Enola Gray, but frustratingly it got deleted by accident. So now I have lost all of my amazing comments, votes and even part of a new chapter that I hadn't save yet. I'm planning to rewrite the bits I've lost, and edit the hell out of the rest.

I hope guys understand and vote/comment when it comes back out again. It would really mean a lot to me .

UPDATE-

I've written the new prologue. I hope you like :)

Lots of love

The Birthday Wish

The young girl tugged at her mother’s long skirt, a look of impatience on her round face. Her mother ignored her,and carried on with washing the pots. She had so much to do, but so little time to do it. With work the next day, she had no idea how she would be able to find time to fit everything in tonight.

"Stop ignoring me, mama." The young girl tugged on her mothers floaty skirt once more.

“Enola, stop it. Go sit inside with your friends.”

“Mama, I need to ask you something.” When her mother didn't look her way, she huffed. "Its urgent."

Her mother sighed and turned towards her pouting daughter. “I’m not going to tell you what presents I've bought for you Nola. You don’t wanna ruin the surprise do you?”

“But Mama...”

“Nope, I’m not listening.” Enola’s mother shook her head with a stern glare and walked past her daughter to the other side of the kitchen. Humming a sweet tune, she pulled out a batch of gooey chocolate cookies from the oven. The sweet scent flooded the tiny room, reaching Enola's senses, but not even that could distract her.

"Mama, you have to listen to me." She tried to catch her mothers attention once more by tugging on her arm. The one not holding onto the tray of cookies. Unfortunately, this only made her more frustrated.

“You get your birthday presents, after the cake. Just like we have done for the past nine other birthdays, okay Nola?”

Enola let out another whine, her dark blue eyes blurring with tears. “Mama, my friends are mean to me. I don’t wanna go watch the film with them. I wanna stay in the kitchen, with you.”

Her mother let out a tired sigh as she glanced down into her daughter’s large glistening eyes. She felt herself giving in. Almost.

“Honey, they are your friends, I’m sure they are being perfectly lovely towards you. “

“Nope. They are horrible, absolutely horrible.” As she said this, Enola stamped her tiny bare foot on the freezing tiles and scowled in annoyance. Her eyebrow twitched. “They hate me.”

With a giant smile on her face, her mother placed the cookies on the wooden counter and embraced her daughter. It was filled with warmth and reassurance, as usual. Hugging her mother tighter, Enola realised her mother smelt sugary, with a hint of mint; Her Dads favourite perfume. She smiled against her mothers shirt.

“Don’t be silly Nola, they love you, and they wouldn't even be here if they didn't ” Her mother could tell she was lying. Enola’s face was an open book. Just one tiny twitch of her eyebrows or lips, would instantly expose her lies. But why would she lie right now?

"Nola, just get back inside and enjoy yourself. Don't waste time in here. All of your friends are waiting for you.”

Enola wasn’t even listening, she just wrapped her tiny pale arms around her mother’s waist once more and squeezed her as tight as she could, and planned on never letting go. This is what Enola had wanted, not the presents or the cake like her mother had thought. All she wanted was the pure comfortable warmth of her mother’s hug.

Even throughout the excitement of reaching the incredible age of ten, Enola had a strange feeling resounding in her stomach. It felt as if someone was banging on her heart, crushing it to pieces, and then decided to free thousands of angry tigers in her stomach, allowing them to go wild.

Miserably, she pushed herself to heave up a smile in front of people but the ache only got ten times worse whenever her mother appeared. Enola, though she had only just turned ten years old today, was extremely clever for her age, and she knew that her life was about to change, and not in a good way either.

If something happened to her mother, she had no idea how she would cope. With Dad gone to heaven, it was inevitable that Enola would be taken away by the social services. It was the only option. And this petrified her.

“Come on, you go inside and play with your friends and I’ll bring the cookies in.” She was about to interrupt, when her mother pulled her arms away from and pushed her through the kitchen door. “Go. Shoo.” Enola frowned at the floor as the bizarre feeling came rushing at her once again, hitting her stomach a horrendous tight force. “And smile my darling child, it’s your tenth birthday.” With that being said, Enola scampered out of the kitchen, a grim smile on her face.

Something terrible was going to happen and it was going to happen soon.

“Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to you. Happy Birthday dear Enola. Happy Birthday to you.”

The children hovering around her cheered and squealed with excitement as Enola’s mother held the cake in front of her grinning lips.

“Come on Enola. Are you going to make a wish?”

She looked around at her few friends circling around her, giving her bright cheesy smiles and simply shrugged. She had no clue what she wanted; She had everything she needed right now. However, not for long.

“Yeah, what are you going to wish for?”

“Wish for a mansion!”

“Wish for a pony!”

“I think you should wish for a lifetime of happiness.” Enola looked at her mother right in the eyes and smiled.

“That’s a good idea,” she replied.

All of a sudden, as the tigers came back at full force and ferociously attacked her insides with their sharp claws. That feeling was never going to go away, not with her mother always around.

Enola couldn't help but feel as if this was her last moment with everyone she loved. She had her friends all around her, her mother standing just in front of her, with love oozing out of her every pore. She was sure nothing could beat this overwhelming feeling of being loved, not even the throbbing in her stomach could take that away.

With the cake hovering before her face and a heavy feeling pressing against her heart, Enola gave all of her friends her biggest cheerful grin, then closed her bright eyes and blew out the flickering candles.

I wish that my mother will be safe tonight.

What Enola realized the next day was that not all birthday wishes come true...

Her mother was discovered dead the next morning. It was suicide.
