~ A new begining ~ Genshin impact High school AU

Departing

It was a windless, clear spring day at Inazuma Airport. You, Y/N, along with your luggage, bade goodbye to your mother as you were heading to Liyue and Mondstadt high, (Genshin high for short) to spend the next month as a transfer student.

"... and don't forget to brush your teeth, be nice to your foster family, stay safe, eat properly, sleep well and-"

"Alright, alright! I know!" You interrupted your fussing mother. "I know the details. I'm not a child anymore!"

Your mum glanced at the clock. "Oh dear, look at the time! Your flight is due in 30 minutes. Hurry up, you'll miss it!"

You reply with a smile. " Thanks, mum. You're right. I better get going."

And with that, you planted a small kiss on your mother's cheek. Smiling, you spin around and jog towards the entrance of the airport, shouting "I love you!" behind your shoulder.

"Oh, my baby's grown so much..."

With a small sigh, you peeped through the window and felt the plane lift from the ground. Inazuma became smaller, and smaller. Soon it became a small cluster of islands sitting in the beautiful ocean. You could not help but feel excited for the future. What could it hold?

After a 3 hour flight, I finally arrived at my destination: Liyue City Airport. Stepping down the plane, I took a breath of fresh air. It no longer smelled like sakura blooms, but a welcoming smell of sea salt. "We must be near the harbour." I thought. Prior coming here, I had studied Mondstadt and Liyue's maps thoroughly , in case I got lost. "Well, time to meet my foster family. I hope they're nice."

Strolling though the airport, I stumbled upon a small sovenier shop. There were small gifts. My eyes fell directly onto three matching keychains: A black cat, white cat and gray cat. Didn't my mum said that my foster home had a pair of twins my age and a single mother? This is a perfect gift for the two children! (Note: Y/N doesn't know who her foster family is). As for my foster mother... aha! I fished out a pretty handbag that was marked 50% off. Perfect!

As I walked out of the airport I could see a woman and two teenagers bickering about something. As I walked nearer, I could hear some of their conversation:

"I told you to bring a gift each! Why did you forget?" The light haired lady questioned. "We forgot..." confessed the golden haired girl on the left. "I'm sorry," replied her brother. "we didn't know...!"

"No wonder you're twins," sighed the lady. Holding back laughter, I approached the trio. "Excuse me, Miss, are you the foster mother of Y/N?" The lady swerved around. "Oh yes, I am. You must be Y/N, I take?" I replied,"Yes I am! Oh yes, before I forget..." I handed my present to the lady. "Oh, thank you!" she exclaimed. "This was very nice of you. This is Lumine," she pointed to the girl, "-and this is Aether. You can call me Miss Alina, or Alina, I don't mind."(Note: made up name, NOT cannon). Walking up to the twins, I greeted them and handed them their keychains. Aether recieved the gray cat key chain, Lumine the black, and I kept the white for myself. We also had a small chat, turns out we had a lot in common! Our small talk was cut short by Miss Alina, who suggested we chat more on the way home.

So that's where I am now! Miss Alina is going to prepare a feast, and school starts tommorow. I'm so excited!
