chapter 5

By the time I got down to the kitchen for lunch everyone was already there. I got my food and sat on the couch. Peter took a seat on the couch in front of me.

"Did you like the library?"

"I did. It was huge. And F.R.I.D.A.Y. was quite helpful too." he tilted his head, nodding. 

"Was she now?" I asked, taking a bite.

"Yep, she helped me with tomorrow's plan."

"Well, you're obviously not gonna tell me. Did you eat?"

"Yeah."

"Okay." I nodded.

I wanted to continue talking to him. About anything. I didn't know why. But I decided against it, for some reason. Plus, I'll be spending time with him tomorrow anyway. What was even going on with me? Was I looking forward to spending time with him? Wow. I finished eating and went back to my room.

Wanda came up to my room. 

"Heyyy." she said wiggling her eyebrows.

"Hi? What's up?" I asked laughing.

"I heard you were baking with spider-boy."

"Only because he's terrible at it and I am a great baker."

"Sure."

"Whaaat?"

"He's cute, isn't he?"

"He's fine. What's your point?"

"Oh, he told me that you guys are going out tomorrow." she nudged my shoulder.

"We're not 'going out', going out, okay?"

"I think he likes you."

"Shut up. We haven't even known each other that long." I playfully punched her side. "What exactly did he say to you, though?"

"Look at you, blushing." she teased.

"I'M NOT BLUSHING."

She burst out laughing.

"He was asking me about a few places around here. But he told me not to tell you anything."

"But you're my best friend."

"Which is why I'm not going to tell you. But I think you'll have fun."

"Just tell me, pleaseee." I batted my eyelashes.

"Haha no."

"Ugh alright. Do you wanna do something right now?"

"I'm actually going out with Vision. But I'm Spidey is free."

"Oh yeah. I'll go check what Pete's doing see if he wants help with homework or something."

"That's not who I mean-"

"Or maybe I'll go train with Steve and Nat. Or hang out with Sam and Bucky. Or read for a while. Ooh I could manipulate Tony into making me a new suit. That sounds fun." I pretended to ignore her.

"You're annoying."

"You love me."

"Yes, yes I do." she sighed. "I'll see you later, okay?"

"Have fun with your toaster boyfriend."

"I will."

I stayed in my room for most of the evening, watching Netflix, reading, listening to music. Then I went to the training room. Steve, Sam and Bucky were there. 

"Hey Capsicle. Ooh Birdy and Buck are here too." 

"Y/N, hi." Cap greeted.

"Hey, magic girl." Sam said.

"Hey, Y/N." Bucky waved.

"What are you all doing here at this time? I thought you guys trained in the morning."

"I did train in the morning but I didn't have anything else to do so I am here again." Steve said.

"Well, we overslept because we came back late last night. Fury called us to discuss something." Bucky told me.

"Oh okay."

"So, where's that Peter guy taking you tomorrow?" Sam asked me.

"How do you know about that?"

"Everybody knows. Nat and Tony were talking about it earlier."

"Who told them? And why is it so important any way?"

"Are guys gonna fondue?"

"Jeez Cap, how many times do we have to tell you? Nobody says fondue anymore. I doubt anyone said it even back in the day."

"Yeah, it was just him." Bucky chuckled.

"Also, slow down no one's fondue-ing. I don't know him that well."

"So you're saying if you get to know him better, you'd give it a chance?"

"He's from a different universe." I said matter of factly.

"Ah well."

"Yep."

We trained for a while. When it was time for dinner we went upstairs. After dinner, Peter and I were in the elevator.

"Tomorrow. After lunch." he reminded.

"I remember."

"Are you excited?"

"I don't know where we're going so I'm not sure."

"I think you'll like it."

"That's what Wanda said earlier."

"She told you?"

"She told that you talked to her, she didn't tell me where you're taking me."

"Oh. Okay. Okay, good." he nodded.

We reached his door. 

"Okay, then. I'll see you tomorrow."

"I can't believed I agreed to doing this."

"Well, you can't do anything now."

"Can't I?"

"Come on." he pouted. "I'm really excited about being here. I want to check out all these places. And I think you might be good company."

"I'm flattered but we'll see that tomorrow. Depending on where we're going."

"Okay." he bit lip and nodded.

"Goodnight, spidey."

"Goodnight."

Back in my room, I thought I won't be able to sleep thinking about what we'll do tomorrow. Instead, I thought about what we did today. And it was nice. I actually slept pretty well.
