(Clark stared up at the school nervously from the passenger seat of his dad's truck)
(It was his first time back since the...bus incident and he knew everyone would be staring at him)
Jonathan: "It'll be alright, son. You got your lunch?"
(Clark nodded, things were still awkward between him and his parents since he found out the truth about where he came from)
Jonathan: "Okay well..have a great day, Clark. See you this afternoon."
(Clark nodded and got out of the truck)
(As Clark approached the school, kids pointed and whispered to each other, Clark really wished his hearing wasn't so good as he heard what they were saying about him)
Lana: "Oh hey Clark. You're here."
(Clark gulped as his long time crush looked right at him, as she did all of the other conversations he was hearing faded into the background)
Clark: "Hi..hi Lana."
(He walked down the hall and she kept pace with him)
Lana: "So are you okay? Friday was pretty crazy huh?"
Clark: "Y..yeah. Pretty crazy."
Lana: "Everyone's been saying stuff. As if there's something wrong with you or something."
(Clark looked down in discomfort)
Lana: "But I don't think that."
Clark: "You..you don't?"
Lana: "Nope. They should be talking about the bus driver and the other guy in the car who caused the whole thing. They're the only ones who did anything wrong."
Clark: "..no. I..I shouldn't have...done..what I did."
Lana: "What? Are you serious? Clark..whatever you did..you saved all of us! How can you even question whether you did the right thing?"
Clark: "It's..it's not that easy. Pete's mom came to my house. She..she's been bothering my parents about what happened."
Lana: "Typical. Pete must have learned his bullying techniques from his mom."
(Pete passed by just as she said that)
Lana: "Speak of the devil. Haven't you bothered him enough for one lifetime?"
Pete: "I..I just wanted to say..sorry, C..Clark. I told my mom to let it go."
Lana: "Oh well that changes everything. Did you even say thank you to him? For going back down for you?"
Pete: "..I'm sorry. I'm really sorry, Clark."
(He walks away)
Lana: "Give me the word and I'll make sure he never bothers you again."
Clark: "No it's..it's okay, Lana. Maybe he's changed. Maybe he won't call me dick splash anymore. Or ass wipe."
Lana: "If he does, I'm gonna fight him. Then his mom."
(They shared a smile before heading to class)
