(She knocked on the door and waited nervously until someone answered...)

(..it was him..)

Lana: "Oh my god..it's true...it's really you."

(Recognition dawned on Clark's face)

Clark: "..Lana?"

(She gave him a big hug)

Lana: "I thought you were gone forever."

Clark: "Heh. So did I for a minute there. But enough about me. How are you? What have you been up to? It's been years!"

Lana: "I know! But..well..this is a weird thing to say but..I came back here actually...for your funeral."

Clark: "Oh..thanks I..I appreciate it. Uh..anyway do you want to come in? Maybe stay for dinner?"

(Lana was so excited she nearly said yes..but then she heard something that made her freeze...a baby's cries)

Lana: "..you...you're a..I mean...oh..."

Clark: "Oh yeah sorry about her. The munchkin can't stay asleep for 2 minutes."

Lana: "So...that's..y..your baby?"

Clark: "Yeah. I don't know if you heard but..I'm engaged actually."

Lana: "Oh...right..I guess I...knew that..um..listen I can't stay for dinner but..I just wanted you to know that...I missed you..and...I'm so glad you're alive...okay that's it bye."

(She turned and walked away until his next words stopped her)

Clark: "Thank you, Lana."

(She turned back to him)

Lana: "For what?"

Clark: "For being there for me during a tough part of my life. It..it means more to me than I can say."

(They shared an emotional smile)

Lana: "I should be thanking you. For pulling that bus out of the river. And for every other person you've saved since. You'll always be my hero, Clark. Forever."

(With that, he watched her walk into the sunset...remembering all the good times he'd spent with her...and how it helped shape him into the man he was today)
