I pulled my knees to my chest, trying to push the memory's from my mind.
It didn't happen.... They aren't dead..... They're still alive. They're still here. They're still here....
My aunt aunt pushed a piece of my long, wavy white hair out of my face and gave me a smile.
My bloodshot blue eyes glanced up at her. "What?"
She gave me a sympathetic smile. "Hey, you'll love it here. I know the events that brought you here are less than ideal-"
"My parents are dead." I said bluntly. "And it's my fault."
Her face softened. "You didn't know."
"Yeah."
She perked up again. "Well, you'll find Dalton to be an amazing school!"
"It's an all boys school.... How did you even get me in?"
She shrugged. "Well I am the principal. And along with that, I threatened to sue. They warmed up to that idea rather well."
"Why couldn't you have just put me into a normal school?"
"Because for now I think it's best to keep you close. Oh look! We are here!"
We pulled into a neighborhood and my jaw dropped a little.
It looked.... Unreal. like out of a movie. there were small hills, and vibrant green grass everywhere. A large community pool and arcade house was set up, and well..... Mansions were what the houses were. A small forest surrounded the outside of the houses.
"Everyone who goes to Dalton, lives here. You'll be able to meet some good friends."
I looked out the window to see four boys outside in a yard, playing football.
"Who are they?" I asked.
"Oh! That's Jeff, Nick, David and Trent." My aunt said, smiling. "They're good boys. Too marks, and they're part of the Warblers."
I gave her a blank stare. "The what?"
"The Dalton Academy Warblers. They're the best signing group this state has to offer."
"Hmm. I see."
We pulled up to a large old Victorian style house. "We're here! I'm gonna run inside and get some stuff ready. You can bring your stuff in, and then we'll order some dinner!"
"Alright."
She jumped out of the car and left me all alone. I threw open the car door and stepped out into the warm evening air.
I walked to the back of the car and opened it up. I was only able to bring two boxes with me.
Everything else I owned burned in the fire.
I stacked the boxes on top of each other and struggled to lift them up and shut the trunk.
"INCOMING!" Someone yelled out.
"Wha-?" Something hit the back of my head and I fell onto the ground, the contents of my boxes spilling all over. I let out a groan and rubbed the back of my head.
"Woah, this is a mess." A man said, chuckling. A tall blonde offered me his hand, smiling.
I swatted it away and struggled to stand up. "Gee, thanks."
"I gave you a warning."
"Heads up?" I said, angry. "Wow, thanks."
"Maybe if your reflexes were a bit faster, maybe this wouldn't have happened."
I scowled at him. "You really know how to make a good impression."
He put on a small smile. "I'm Jeff."
"And I'm not interested."a
He let out a sigh and ran his fingers through his blonde hair. His warm brown eyes scanned over the items on the ground. "Let me help you."
"I don't want help." I mumbled.
But even after I said that, his large frame stooped down an started to put all the things he could into one of my boxes. He started to chuckle.
"What." I hissed.
"Is those yours?" He raised a lacy black bra up.
I felt a blush come to my fave and I snatched away my bra. "I- you- how- ugh, you're so!"
"Everything alright?" A new voice asked. A somewhat buff boy came over. And he was.... Cute. He had dark brown, almost black hair and warms brown eyes. He had a nice smile. "Im Nick."
I smiled. "Freya. Nice to meet you."
Jeff scowled. "Oh so he gets to know your name!"
"Cause he isn't an ass." I hissed.
Nick looked between us. "Good to see your making friends, Jeff. You must be new here."
I nodded my head. "Yeah I just moved in with my aunt."
"Who's your aunt?" Nick asked.
"Eleanor."
Jeff's eyes got big. "As in Ms. Salvatore? Our principal?!"
I shrugged. "I guess."
"So where are you going to school then?" Nick asked.
"Dalton....."
Jeff laughed. "you do realize that's an all boys school, right? And well.... You aren't a boy."
Nick gave him a elbow to the stomach. "We can't wait to see you at school tomorrow."
I smiled at Nick. "Likewise."
