The Starpeople who lived in the sky
Never thought of giving Earth a try
But one young Stargirl, so bold, so true
Came down to Earth to see what to do
There she did customs never seen before
Only known to Starpeople, things they adore
Like play a ukulele and talking to a mouse
Decorating things like it was their house
And singing "Happy Birthday" to people they never met
It wasn't something people really get
The people on Earth didn't know what to do
She was different from them, that's all they knew
Their stares became cheers, and whispers to laughter
But who would have known, what would have come after?
For there was a boy, who watched the Stargirl from a distance
Who was only in marvel of her unique brilliance
She was not like them, but he didn't care
He fell in love, right then and right there
She taught him the ways, of the Starpeople above
Showing the things she grew to love
And then and there Starboy was born
Though it was for a short time thanks to other's scorn
For the thing was, that she was still different
They knew it from the start, right at that instant
So the closer the boy and Stargirl grew
The farther people distance from the two
They were invisible, but was known only to the boy
Stargirl was too busy noticing only her joy
Her ignorance only gave them something to annoy
Her whole self is something they wanted to destroy
The boy in desperate need, told what should be done
That Stargirl should change, and be like anyone
The boy begged her to be normal, for she was not
Knowing this was needed, if he were to keep the girl he caught
At first she didn't get what he meant
But her love grew to a huge extent
That the next day she followed her love's plead
When he next saw her, she had done the deed
This person named Stargirl was nothing more
Like taking a person to then take out the core
The star in her was taken away to hide
There was nothing else but a girl inside
A normal girl was what all the boy wanted
All because of the words people had taunted
Even though she was now one of them
The star she treasure was but a gem
And though her now is what he wanted to see
The star inside just needed to be free
So begone was the girl that was here and now gone
The star of her's came back, Stargirl has won
But no one was happy of the comeback of her
The Stargirl that came back caused quite a stir
But when the boy let Stargirl go
Stargirl made one more show
And just like that she was gone, lost in sight
She did what she can, did it with all her might
Never was she ever seen again
And that my friends, it the end
So remember this, people of Earth
Society should not tell us what we are worth
Each and every one of us has a star inside
It's our choice on what we do with it, we have to decide
It's our choice to either be both proud and true
Or hide your star, and mask the real you
That didn't stop Stargirl who knew this from the start
To be herself, to follow her starry heart
So remember when you think that you should be just another decoy
If there was no Stargirl there would have never been a Starboy.
I found the cover in my computer and remembered of this fanfic poem I made of Stargirl. I think I posted it on Wattpad in a while, but no one really read it. I also think I was a bit scared of copyright issues, so I took it down. Now reading it, I decided to post it again. It relates to how society judges you and all, a theme I seemed to be writing a lot of, especially in TGGBB.
So I hope you enjoyed it.
