Today was Jimin's 26th birthday, and for a change, the alpha was determined to prepare a feast for his beta.

Everything was going according to plan. First thing in the morning he knocked on his door holding a basket with the perfect breakfast—Jimin's words—Tteok Mandu Guk (Rice Cake Soup with Dumplings), Kimchi fried rice, and a bouquet of wildflowers.

After having breakfast and spending the morning between hugs and kisses, Taehyung had conveniently picked up Jimin to go for a walk. The beta's best friend had agreed with the alpha to distract him while he put together the surprise.

It would be something simple and modest—considering Jimin's preferences—but also something that would be meaningful to the beta.

Jungkook had been planning it for days, he had discussed it with their mutual friends and even Jimin's parents. The idea would be to prepare lunch and give him the gift, and then in the afternoon his family and friends would arrive to spend a joyful night in the moonlight.

Taking advantage of the fact that the two betas had left the cabin, Jungkook began to hide the gifts. First, he hid the cookbook, then the jewelry box, and lastly the envelope. After making sure that he had left the scented notes in the strategic places, the alpha went in search of the missing ingredients.

The alpha made his way to the market, being extremely careful not to run into the pair of betas. On his walk, the alpha appreciated the autumnal colors that framed his path, trees with greyish trunks and orange, earthy, red leaves. The color palette was cozy and Jungkook could imagine his house having those colors, a cozy home.

Soon, he thought to himself.

Since fall was the best season for mushrooms, the alpha had chosen to make the main dish out of them. He checked the ingredient list for Yoongi's Beoseot Jeongol recipe again:

Luckily, they had most of the ingredients, only the fresh mushrooms, radish, watercress, and cabbage were missing. Jungkook went to the vegetable stand, where he got most of the ingredients.

Now he only needed to get the mushrooms.

The mushroom seller had a stall at the end of the market. It was one of the most picturesque stalls of all, it had rounded cream-colored walls, then a circular window, and finally, a striking red ceiling, simulating a mushroom.

A flower stand caught his eye, it had flowers of all colors and sizes. He glimpsed branches of cherry blossoms, which made him think of the cherry festivals he attended as a child, and on a whim, he decided to buy some of these too.

''Uhm, excuse me?'' The alpha didn't see anyone near the stall.

''Yes, give me a moment.'' A hoarse voice answered from inside the stall. Jungkook watched a sea of red curls rise as the florist stood up, the smell of tacky roses reaching his nose.

It was Iseul, the omega who tried to show herself as a sweet and attentive person to him and then released her bitterness on Jimin. His alpha was upset just thinking about how hurt Jimin had been that day. Jungkook couldn't stop the tang of spicy notes and aggressive pheromones in his scent.

"Oh, Jungkook-ssi, it's you." The omega had the decency to look sorry. "Uhm, I'm really sorry for the way I treated Jimin-ssi."
