*Flashback
"What's your negotiation?" I nod towards my sister's supposed boyfriend.
He stares at me, deep in thought before sliding me a piece of paper. I cock a warning eyebrow, I didn't want games. I wanted to hear what bullshit offer he'd give me, then go home.
Lifting the sheet of paper it was a shipment, an extremely big shipment.
"What do you want, me not to tell my sister?" I ask suspiciously. I didn't buy this, he was okay with losing too much money.
"I would never ask you to keep anything from her, you're family. But this settles everything, no war. The reason my men took you was due to the fact that you were making shipments to the same man as me, Rico Remarez. I did not know whom exactly it was." He leans back into his chair as he spoke. I doubt he was afraid of war, I knew this was about my sister.
"Fine. No war. I'm out of here." I stand, putting the paper in my pocket.
"Your gun." He snaps his finger and his guard wanders away, returning with my gun in a bag. The guard hands it to Luka, who hands it to me. Removing it from the bag, I put it on safety before tucking it in my waistband.
"My driver will drive us, your sister is expecting us." He stands.
I roll my eyes following behind him. His guard opens the car door allowing both of us to enter. Luka offers me a drink, which I accept and we sit in awkward silence. Until I became the nosey older brother.
"So, you like my sister?" I ask. He was only allowed to say yes, and even if he did, I would still be upset.
"I do." He nods.
"Mmm. What about her do you like?" I mug him, he only chuckles at my remark. I don't know what the fuck he thinks is funny.
"You know I think my sister in-law's older sister would be good for you, you make the same face at me." He smirks.
"Is she bad?" I ask him.
He only gives me a confused look.
"Is she attractive?" I shake my head at him, he's so proper. Pulling out his phone he scrolls a bit, before handing it to me.
"Damn." I admire the girl on the screen, she's beautiful.
"I will inform her about you." He retrieves his phone.
"My nigga, tone down. Talking like you reading the bible word for word." I laugh. Maybe this guy ain't so bad, at least he ain't no goofy.
*Flashback Over
As I explained the story to Rakeem he was mixed emotions, each part I told his face changed. He wanted to be angry, but couldn't be. He knew by technicality the guy didn't do anything wrong. He also clearly meant a lot to our sister and it appeared she meant a lot to him.
"The shipment is the biggest drop we'll ever make." I hand him the paper, previously given to me by Luka.
Raising an eyebrow at me, he opens the paper before his jaw drops. This was a $4.5 million dollar drop, this would pay off Rose's school dept and allow us to finally put a down payment on a bigger space for her. Rakeem knew he couldn't be angry, we could finally do the post for our younger sister and ourselves. This is the life we were manifesting since we started working for our dad.
We sat in silence for a moment, before we heard a door open from down the hall and footsteps approaching of two different patterns. Moments later Rose and Luka stood at the entry of the living room.
"Are you guys alright? It got silent." She frowns.
"We're good. Listen man, if our sister see's something in you, you must be special to her. If you gon be around her, you gon be around us. We cool." I confirm to my sister before turning to Luka.
"I appreciate it." He tries to smile, but seemed extremely uncomfortable.
"Even after what happened?" Rose asks surprised.
"You told her?" I raise my eyebrow at the man, who could've kept the secret to save his as but chose not to.
"Of course. As I told you, family first. I wish my family was as close as you all." His eyes look away from mine and I watch as Rose takes his hand into hers, instantly changing his whole demeanour.
"Well if you don't get it like this in your family, welcome to ours." Rakeem finally speaks.
"Thank you." This time his smile genuine.
"Well I outta get washed up, I assume Rakeem is coming. We'll get out of y'all's hair." I stand.
"Sorry about that." Luka scratches the back of his head.
"It's all good man." I assure him, we was cool. He was good in my book.
"If you ever hurt my sister, we will kill you." Rakeem mumbles.
"I would kill myself." He only looks at Rose with love eyes. These fuckers make me sick, but I was glad my sister had someone who was down for her.
"Yeah, ew. We out. Yo man, send me that fine ass girl you was showing me." I tell him, opening the door.
He laughing and nods.
My brothers leave out and I turn to Luka.
"What fine ass girl?" I question him.
"Isabélla." He states.
"I don't think you've mentioned her before." I tell him.
"I do not like most of my family, might I remind you?" He looks at me in a "duh" face.
"That is true." I state, heading towards my bedroom. I hear his footsteps follow after me.
"Angélique." He grabs my wrist spinning me towards him.
"Luka?" I question his motives.
"Thank you for trusting me." His hand drops my wrist and caresses my face, I felt myself melt at his words and sink into his touch.
"What do you mean?" I frown, not from sadness, just confusion. I thought he understood I trust him.
"You always take my word, it feels good I do not have to fight for you to believe. Although for you, I will fight for." He places a gentle kiss on my forehead.
It was such a safe feeling that Luka would fight for me, because I would always fight for Luka.
