Fear The Walking Dead

That Morning

"Good morning Los Angeles, hope you got your flu shot. Reports in five states say a strange virus is going around..."

"What's that?" I hear my mothers voice, then the refrigerator door open as she looks for something to drink.

"The news, some virus."

"Oh, well then we better get our flu shots." she snorts then walks out the room.

I bite my lip, I always do when I'm nervous or thinking. But this time, I bite it way too hard.

"Hey," I land on top of Michael's bed, he's playing his video game I have no idea what's about.

"Hey"

"Did you hear? About the virus?"

"Oh yeah, sounds like uh...zombie virus" he says as his eyes are concentrated on the video game.

"Exactly what I thought!" I laugh, he does too.

"Do you really think it could be?" my voice is weak, I knew it was all bound to happen one day.

"Not sure honestly, but if it is, hell yeah I'm ready for this apocalypse" we both laugh.

"See you later, bye, love you" my mom kisses my head as she leaves for work, leaving just Michael and I in the house.

I go to my phone and check Twitter, my timeline filled with tweets about this dumb virus. It's probably nothing.

I turn on the TV so I could watch my favorite show, Orange Is The New Black, but of course, something interrupts me.

"New reports on the virus have just come in. Signs from the infected are getting worse by the minute. We encourage you to stay at home everyone, and keep away from others."

Holy shit. What if this really is an apocalypse!

"Michael..."

"Yeah?" I hear from up stairs, his voice muffled.

"I think you might wanna check the news..."
