I have never been one to just exit a cafe without paying, but this day seemed to be moving so fast that I had to rush to grab every second of It. The smell of bagels cooking on the sidewalk, the thick smoke coming out from the cabs New York at its finest. The sun is burning away at the buildings, melting the roads to a thick black mush. I run into a near by shop to refresh my self with air conditioning. And that's when I see her, blue eyes that burn onto me like sniper guns, tight waist and long blond hair covering her breast just holding onto her innocents. I walk over to her in a manner so unlike me, without a second hesitation " hey". Silence descended, her eyes began to glance at the floor and she began rubbing her fingers through her hair, knocking the pencil that sits on her ear to the floor. She bends down to reach for it, my eyes clamp onto her backside. I cough which must have startled her enough to fling her head up and hit it on the counter, I do a sly and subtle laugh. "Can I have that water now" I said staring at her while she try's to mask the pain of her head. "Oh yeah...erm I'm sorry I didn't ...okay... sure, would you like still sparkling, flavoured?" The way her voice shook when she spoke gave me the impression that she was still embarrassed. "Still, Thank you" I replied in such a tone that seemed to calm her nerves as well as mine. "That will be $2.50 please". I handed her the money briefly touching her hand, our eyes met until the embarrassment she had been holding in took over her body and she retreated to look at the floor. I knew in that moment this wouldn't be the last time I met her.
