In my rush to get back home, I realize I never told Christina and Rose about my visitor. I video call them on Snapchat because you can't facetime with more than two people. Those two are my day one friends, the friends people wish they had, the ones called "ride or die" but they actually are. They lied countless times and came up with elaborate plans just so I could see Harry. Truly, they are the best. I am forever grateful for them.
It's the middle of the day so who knows what they're up to, but they both answer at the same time. I'm driving so I don't notice until Rose says something.
"Oh good, you're both here. You'll never guess who is at my house right now." I await their response before telling them it's Harry.
"No fucking way!" Rose squeals on her end of the line. "Is he there to win you back?"
I scoff. "I don't think so. He wants to clear the air between us. For what reason, I have no idea."
"I mean, it's clearly because he wrote a bunch of songs about you and you never talked to him about it, so he wants to know your reaction." Christina chimes in, being the logical person she is. "Unless he does want you back, but last time I checked-"
"He doesn't want me back!" I stop her before she goes into the same tangent Rose is going right now. "I mean we made out yesterday, and I said yes to sleeping with him but then stopped-"
Rose squeals again, cutting me off. "You did what?!"
"Dylan, again, I think he has a g-" Christina tries to speak again.
"I really can't believe you!" Rose cuts off Christina. "Why didn't you tell us he stopped by last night?!"
I glare at the phone quickly before looking back at the road. "I thought you two were the ones who gave my location away."
"Trust me, we would not do that to you." Christina gets to speak over Rose this time. "I would say hear him out about his songs. His music is really good and it doesn't seem like he's said anything bad about you. Just be careful."
"I agree. Now, call us later with updates about your life that don't revolve around a boy! We haven't talked in so long." Rose tells me, dramatically as ever.
My smile grows. "Absolutely. I will talk to you two soon. Thanks for the advice and letting me rant! Love you!"
They chime back their 'I love yous' as well before we all hang up.
"Yeah, I'll call you back later, chérie. I'm fine, just busy visiting an old friend." I think I overhear Harry say as he's on the phone when I walk in from class.
"Dylan!" Ryan calls from the couch when he sees me, breaking me away from my thoughts.
I give him a questioning look. "What are you doing here? Don't you have class?"
"It got canceled and I am hanging out with my new friend, Harry." Ryan gestures to the kitchen. "His mom called so he's taking it in there."
The name makes sense now. He has always been affectionate with his mom. Chérie is a term of endearment right? Whatever, I'll figure it out later.
I sit next to Ryan on the couch and put my feet on him, causing him to roll his eyes. "You're the worst." But he doesn't knock them off which I'm thankful for.
"I see that's something you didn't grow out of." Harry walks back into the room, interrupting us. "She used to always do that to Louis or me. Whoever was in a more comfortable spot." He tells Ryan.
"Not always!" I defend myself.
"Yes, Dylan. Always." He argues back lightheartedly.
I roll my eyes but cuddle into the couch, thankful I get a mental break before Harry and I have to talk.
