"You shouldn't go in there y'know."

Ignoring the voice, you continued to push open the rusted metal door. It made a low groaning noise before hitting the wall. A room full of snakes. Snakes with yellow-type eyes. Snakes and scales and yellow eyes. Broken glass was scattered all over the floor. Below the snakes, on top of the snakes, you couldn't tell if the window was broken just now or if it was like that before the snakes decided to come. It didn't matter. You stood there for a while longer. You stood and starred at the snakes and scales and yellow eyes and broken glass, before turning around and continuing down the dimly lit hall that seemed to stretch on forever. Lucky for you, you seemed to have forever.

"Where are we going?"

You shrugged, you didn't want to have anything to do with the straw-hatted boy who wouldn't stop following you. You were already confused about where you were and you didn't trust this stranger around you.

"Do you talk?"

You glanced at him briefly, quickening your pace toward another door. A paper-colored door. A paper-colored door that you soon realized was made out of paper as it crumpled to the floor the second your hand brushed against it. The room was empty. Nothing but a door directly across the room from where you stood at the entrance. Barred windows on either side of it show the forest just outside of the endless building you were in currently. It didn't make sense for a door to be there if it lead to nothing. You stepped inside the room, the only reason you could think of for the door to be there was if it were the exit to this hellish area. The floor fell below you fell apart as you took a step in, it also being made from paper. The ground underneath you tore, showing nothing more than a pit that continued down so far it made you dizzy to look at. A rubbery arm swiftly wrapped itself around you as it stopped you from going any farther down.

"Shishishi, you almost fell." The boy giggled a little at your misfortune as he pulled you back up to where you originally were.

"Do you know where we are?" You finally asked, to which the boy shook his head like a dog would when their fur was wet. "Who are you?"

"I'm Luffy!" He exclaimed excitedly, running over to the edge you had just fallen off before jumping off into the dark of it. You stared down at him as he fell, unsure of what to do, you certainly didn't have an arm like him, hopefully, he wasn't relying on you to save him. Eventually, you heard a loud, rough thud as his body collided with the ground, echoing all throughout the building. You flinched a little at the sound. You were about to go search for a way to go down to him to see if he was still alive or not, but the same arm that had saved you came back up and wrapped around your waist again, dragging you forcefully down into the hole with him.

"That was a big stunt." You told him, as you were set onto the dirty floor. Looking around you could see the stone walls stained with blood from different victims who fell for the trap. Their bodies weren't there though. Something must've taken them.

"I wanted to see where it lead." You could hear rats running and scratching around you, their small squeaks reaching your ears every now and then.

"You didn't have to take me with you." Instead of being on ground level, you were now stories below it. Finding a way back up would be the most beneficial way to find an escape, getting back up was going to be a challenge though, especially when you were stuck with him.

You started out of the room, opening the single door to see if you could find an elevator, or at the very least some stairs. You were met with the remains of a campfire. Someone else had to have been here. You didn't really want to find them, having another person being attached to you sounded terrible, but you doubted anyone could be worse than the one leeching off of you right now. You made your way further into the pitch-black room, squatting down to poke at the ashes and burnt logs on the floor. You touched one of the logs, confused when you realized how damp it was.

The darkroom suddenly filled with light, revealing more used and dead campfires that covered the cold, slate-colored floors, a few tents scattered here and there. You turned back to see Luffy at the door, his hand on the wall.

"There was a light switch." He grinned stupidly at you before moving it up and down, making the lights flicker.

You took a deep breath, inhaling the heavy scent of smoke and copper that filled the decent-sized room, taking notice of the stairs tucked in the corner of the room. You started for the tent closest to you, unzipping it to rummage through the possible items. The floor of the tent was covered in books. Books that didn't even follow a theme. You picked one up, "How To Get Rid Of The Ocean." Skimming through a few pages, you could only find recipes. For what, you couldn't say, they all called for unedible ingredients. It was slightly hard to read with the pages covered in water. You just closed it, tossing it back in before starting for the next tent, trying to stay optimistic about it holding something more useful.

"Heyyyy, I'm hungryyyy," Luffy whined, slouching dramatically as he came up to you. I guess he got bored messing with the light switch.

"Help me search some of the tents, we might find something you can eat." With that in mind, he ran over to open another one of the tents. You weren't sure how whoever set these up managed to nail these into the ground considering the fact the floor was hard metal, but they did.

The next tent you entered didn't have much to offer either, it was just full of glitter and- oh hey, it's one of the people who must've fallen down here. Must've fallen recently too, they still had some layers of skin that barely hung on.

A ticking sound echoed quietly in your ear. It made you stop. Listening attentively for anything that could help you decipher what was going to happen next. The longer you listened the more the sound sped up. After a while the constant ticking turned into a continuous ring before stopping completely, making the room silent again. The only other sound that could be heard was Luffy messing around in one of the tents.

One of the walls collapsed, allowing gallons of water to start filling the room. It was quickly rising to the top. Luffy ran out to see what the noise was, before becoming paralyzed and weak by the water that was now up to his ankles.

God, you were sick of this kid. You ran over to him, grabbing him by the back of his shirt and dragging him over to the staircase. You hoped this was an actual staircase that lead to an actual area and not some trick like the rest of the things in this building seemed to be. He fell limp as you pulled him with you up the concrete and cracked stairs.

"Will you pick your feet up?" You demanded, annoyed that you felt obligated to save him. If he hadn't saved you from falling to your death you would've just left him. At least this'll make it so the two of you are even. You didn't owe him anything more. If you make it out alive, that is.

He just groaned as he stared at the rising water with half-lidded eyes. Lucky for you, the stairs were as real as they get. You stumbled a little at the hard turn it made, these stairs reminded you of the ones you had in your apartment, dusty and unused. You weren't very fast. Lugging an entire person with you as you climbed a flight of stairs wasn't an easy thing to do and you were started to lose your breath. The water seemed to be rising faster than it was before. You were frantic now, falling backward on the steps as you attempted to haul Luffy further up. The water then stopped, draining itself back to wherever it came from, allowing you to carry the boy safely up the rest of the way.

As you reached the top, you dropped Luffy on the ground, doing your best to calm your racing heart. You glanced up to take in your surroundings, only to find yourself in the same place you started, at the end of a mindlessly long and dark hall with doors on every side. The same rusted metal door was still open, snakes slithering around nearby it, and the same wrinkled paper room. The only difference was the lone but lit campfire seemingly miles away. You slide down the brick wall in annoyance, sitting beside Luffy, who was slowly collecting himself. I guess that explained why everything in that room was wet.
