You absolutely adore baking. It's by far one of your favorite hobbies.
You often find yourself - the way you're doing now- making a batch of cookies for the whole group late at night when you can't sleep. As you put the tray of dough in the oven and set the timer, you sit down and decide to let your thoughts wander.
you remember that one time when everyone went to Ai's house so that you could teach them how to bake a strawberry cake.
you can't help but giggle out loud at the memory.
Rika had made a huge mess while mixing the wet ingredients, and Ai's mom had laughed and helped clean up. The rest of you, except Neiru (who was trying not to encourage Rika), laughed until your stomachs hurt. It wasn't even funny, but somehow it seemed like the most hilarious thing in the world at that time.
fAter putting the cake batter in the oven, you and Neiru worked on making the frosting while Momoe and Ai got the piping bags ready and cut up the strawberries. In the meantime, Rika was going around giving her input on what everyone else was doing. when it was time to mix the sugar into the frosting, she had come over and insisted on doubling the amount the recipe called for because "It'll taste better that way". She also went over to 'help' Neiru but after Rika made her lose her temper, she ended up banning Rika from her area of the kitchen.
Rika's role changed to making the baking playlist after this.
when the oven obnoxiously started beeping and everyone still had their hands full, naturally, you guys had asked Rika to get it.
it turned out not to be the smartest decision, because a few seconds after she opened the oven everyone heard a crash and a scream.
you all had looked towards the direction where the sound came from as you guys saw her wailing on the floor clutching her hand. After making sure the cake wasn't harmed, Ai burst into a fit of giggles while Rika screamed at her, and Momoe went to the freezer to get her an icepack.
When Rikas hand was taken care of and the cake was safely brought out of the oven, everyone noticed how messy the cake ended up being. the layers were uneven, and the frosting was everywhere (and way too sweet) but there was no cake left uneaten at the end anyway \(◦'-'◦)/♡
