Peter was on patrol, swinging through the city. There wasn't really a lot of crime today, just one guy trying to take a lady's purse. After catching him and returning the purse to that lady, it was all just swinging around from there on. Peter sat on the edge of a building. He sighed of boredom. Guess I should just head back. He thought. That's when he heard something. Or, someone. Whipping around, right behind him a few streets down was a huge cloud of smoke coming from some old building. There was screaming all about. Looks like a job for the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man!
*PETERS POV*
I got up and swung over. This is gonna be fun! I mean-this is bad-but still its gonna be fun! I landed on the wall of the smoking building. But the smoke isn't coming from the building. Huh. Odd. "Hey Karen, can you tell me what the source of the smoke is?"
"Happy to help, Peter."
A human like figure illuminated under all the smoke. I cant tell what he's doing though. I should probably get a closer look. I jumped off the building and into the thick smoke. It's kinda hard to breath in. "Karen is there anyone other than that guy in here?" I can't let anyone get hurt on my watch. "It appears the others are no longer in the smoke."
"Okay good, thanks Karen."
Suddenly, a path cleared in the smoke. There was a shadow moving all around me. It looked like that guy! "Well well well! Your finally here! It sure took you long enough." The shadow guy said. His voice was gravely but smooth at the same time. He sounded old. "Better late than never. And how could I resist a show like this!" The guy laughed, it felt really unsettling. It wasn't creepy though, just disturbing. "Good thing you came. I was staring to think I would have to turn to torturing the civilians instead." This guys getting on my nerves. I narrowed my lenses. "What do you even want? And why so much smoke? Circus tryouts aren't til next month buddy." The shadow multiplied until 20 of the same guy were surrounding me. He stopped moving and stared at me with with all 20 pairs of red eyes. "I just thought we could have a little fun." My spidey sense went off. I turned around as fast as I could. The guy was standing there, except he was more human this time. His eyes flicked from red, to blue, to green, and to black. "Mr. Parker..."
He raised his arms up as a foggy darkness covered his hands, and all of the shadows surrounding me turned into...me? They had the same face, hair, and body of me except in a shadow form. Peter Parker me. Oh no. How does he know who I am? Who is he? What is he? "AHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!" He laughed maliciously while the darkness lifted him up. "Peter, it does not appear that your enemy is human." Karen warned me. Well no shit, Sherlock.
The guy stopped laughing. He lost all expression and any emotion in his face. He was dropped down to floor. Everything was so still. "Don't worry Spidey, or should I say Peter? No? Okay then spidey it is. I'm going to at least give you a chance to defeat me. So don't waste it. I'll give you to the count of 3. 1...2...-"
I jumped up and tackled him. I webbed his arms to the ground and kicked him a few times. Holding his legs down, I put my foot on the side of his head as I heard his legs snap. Oops. I actually didn't mean to do that. However, he wasn't fazed at all.
"3!!! MY TURN MY TURN!"
The darkness surrounded his hands again, and the webs broke off of his wrists. How the hell?!? I punched him in the eye and drove my knee into his stomach. He hunched over and laughed while I hit him. My leg swung and knocked him in the head. His head turned slightly. But only slightly. That should've knocked him over! "FOOLISH CHILD!"He gripped his head and turned it all the way around. A FULL 360! "What the fu-"
He grabbed be by the neck. My spidey sense didn't go off at all. That's the scary part. We both started floating up just like he did before. He through me to the top of the smoke, where I could hardly breathe. I gasped for air as I fell back down to the floor. He placed his foot on my torso and looked me right in the eye while laughing his ass off. That's when I finally got a good look at him in his human form. He had bright blue hair and was wearing all black clothes with a dark crown on his head. He kicked me in the stomach. Again. And again. And again. I have to keep going. When he lifted his leg, I rolled over and dodged the next kick. I stumbled and stood up. Trying to get into a fighting position and find a strategy, I looked around the smoke. The foggy versions of me were moving all around the place, except there were other shadowy people too. A few I could recognize were Aunt May, Uncle Ben, Ned, and Mr. Stark. There were some other ones I couldn't recognize too. They were all surrounding the shadow version of me, and they looked upset. And then it clicked. These are my memories. Or some of them. Just bits and pieces of some bad ones. I desperately swung at him, just to miss and get hit again. I fell to the floor, my body failing me. The shadow man picked me up by the throat with just one hand. He raised his other one and just as before, the Smokey darkness circled all around him. His hand touch the side of my face. All of the screaming shadows flooded the area. "Oh and by the way Parker, my name," the shadows dived into my eyes. "Is Dr. Death" I saw him smile right before everything went black.
