IV. Confession.

"Oh look, the lovebirds are obviously stick together," said Narukami to one of his teammates, trying to make the goalkeeper hear him.

"Genou, ignore him, please ignore him..." murmured Sakuma as his cheeks turned red.

"We're not-" Genda began to speak, despite his friend's request.

"I told you to ignore him," repeated the younger one, interrupting Koujirou and tugging on his sleeve.

Genda sighed deeply, calming himself down. "Sorry. They're just too annoying sometimes," he said, rolling his eyes. After saying that he decided to listen to Jirou and change the topic.

"Oh, come on. They look like they're about to kiss each other. Just look at Sakuma's reaction," whispered Narukami to Henmi. "But these motherfuckers are blind."

"Not my business, I guess," he answered, going back to training.

Jirou knew about all the rumors his teammates were spreading. It was so annoying, and at the same time he wished they weren't true. At least those parts about him - he was madly in love with his best friend and he was very tired because of it. He felt it was wrong.

He wanted to confess to Koujirou but wasn't sure if he would ever feel the same.

But, after all, Valentine's Day was approaching. Sakuma knew he was going to spend that day with Genda anyway, so he wanted to try to tell him everything. He didn't quite know how to describe 'everything' the moment he thought about it, but that wasn't the problem. He was afraid that he would retreat at the last second... He just still wanted to be friends with Kou even if he would reject him, but wouldn't that be weird?

Sakuma was thinking about his 'everything', but when when February 14 came, he still didn't know what to say. But in spite of that fact, he finally decided to tell Genda about his feelings. He was about to turn on the next episode of random series they were watching when he began to speak.

"Genou, can we stop for a while?" he asked, pausing the outro.

"Of course." Koujirou nodded, watching his friend's expression. "Is there any reason?"

"Uh, yea, actually..." Sakuma answered nervously. "I... Please, don't interrupt me, okay?"

"Sure." He nodded again, still gazing at Jirou.

"So, well..." he started, hesitating a bit. "Gosh, why is it so hard..." he murmured, looking away for a while. "You're, uh, really important to me, y'know? Like, you know... You were with me when I was at my best and at my worst as well... And I appreciate you. And admire you..."

At that moment Jirou stopped. He just covered his hands with his hands, feeling his cheeks turned warm. "I'm sorry, I... I tried to figure out what to say for a few days but I still don't know," he admitted quietly. "I'm just... So in love with you. I was trying to tell you for so long and... I don't know, for all these I wasn't able to find right words. Sorry, I didn't want to be so chaotic... And I will understand if you will reject me." After saying that, he exhaled loudly. "That's all."

"Are... Are you kidding?" asked Genda in response. He was shocked and he really didn't know how to react.

"Do I look like I'm kidding?" the younger one asked back. "I just... I wanna be your boyfriend so bad. I wanted to kiss you since... I don't know when. But I still wanna do it."

"Do it then," whispered Koujirou, not able to say anything else.

"I can't kiss," answered Sakuma, laughing nervously.

"Me neither, so don't worry," he shrugged his shoulders, hesitantly touching his friend's hand.

"Does that mean you love me back?" asked Jirou, turning even more red.

"With all my heart."
