"Dead to me." - a Gem galaxies fanfiction

the beginning

It was like any other day for the bubble keeper, pacing around the large room, checking up on each and every bubbled gem she could see. though today was going to be quite different. everything was from this moment on. 

She heard the sound of light heels clicking behind her back, then a stern voice called out. 

''ahem, hello?''

morgana turned around to see a tall, green zircon. they must be here for what happened last week.. ''is there something you need?'' morgana had quite a soft voice, it matched her personality perfectly. 

''yes. I'm here for information on what happened with the morganite last week. may i take a look around?'' 

without even waiting for a reply, the zircon walked off on their own. of course morgana had to run to catch up with them, she was small after all. after a moment, the zircon turned around to look down at morgana.

 ''are you following me?'' 

 it seems the zircon didn't know how things work around here. 

''i have to, i need to make sure nothing bad happens, like a gem breaking out of their bubble if possible..'' she looked up at the taller one, though his face showed some hints of confusion. ''is this area not safe, hm?'' 

now that caught her off guard. her face turned redder than it usually is and she began to stutter ''o-of course its safe! we keep all bubbled gems here! why wouldn't it-it be?'' 

the zircon let out a chuckle as he nodded, now beginning to walk off again.

after what had only felt like seconds for morgana, she was already watching the other leave.

''..it was nice having you accompany me, my names circuit.'' the zircon gave her a slight smile, something she didn't expect from such a gem. 

''it was a pleasure.. I'm morgana.'' she bowed to him, and with that he was gone.

that wasn't the last time the two had seen each other though.

over the span of a moth, they had seen each other nearly weekly. getting closer and closer every day.. maybe even closer than friends.

it was all going perfectly until that one fateful day..
