She saw him again yesterday after five years. She was out with her "best friend". They were shopping and sharing the latest gossip about their close cycle of friends. He was out with his girlfriend in order to get their wedding rings. He said they are getting married next month.
He was the one to spot her first. They shared a hug and then he introduced her to his new girlfriend. A small talk was in order. He informed her brief about his life today and then he asked her how she's doing. It was her turn to talk but she was speechless. The only thing she could do was breathe. She could barely look him in the eye.
What should she answer? She didn't think she had an answer. What am I doing with my life? She asked herself even though the answer was right in front of her eyes and crystal clear. She was a worldwide famous actress. She gained millions of money and thousands of fans. Followers and Paparazzis viewing every second of her life. Friends and flings who schmooze with her and always tell her what she wants to hear. But at what price? She lost him. She lost her only chance at love.
On the other side, he had succeeded in his personal and work life. He owns a successful company. He bought his dream house. He has a beautiful girl whom he adores and which seems to love him very much. The girl that's holding his hand is perfect. Why? Because she's not her. This girl will appreciate him and respect him. Most importantly this girl will not break his heart.
Like she did in the past.
