"Hey Brianna! I want you here this very moment," hollered Pamela Parker. She was the mother of the little girl Brianna Parker who replied to her mother's call with a softly spoken "Coming mother".
Well, Brianna was a very well mannered little kid who payed much interest in music, dance, outdoor sporting activities and played various instruments including the piano and the violin. Indeed for a five year old she was very much talented and smarter than any other child of her age. She had beautiful brown curls and a pair of gorgeous eyes which she had inherited from her mother. Yes, she was perfectly made, a gift from heaven. And Pamela and Roger Parker were simply the happiest parents in town.
As Brianna entered the kitchen obeying her mother, her mom announced, "We have new neighbours young girl. And maybe I spotted a playmate for you amongst them. Would you wanna accompany me for a small welcoming visit this afternoon?" "Sure mother. I'd love to", Brianna said in a cheerful voice. (Not that she ever sounded unhappy).
Brianna's dark brown eyes seemed to sparkle at the name of a playmate. It had been almost forever when she last had a play date. And that had been with her mother's best friend's daughter, Samira. But that was months and months ago so Brianna lit up with excitement. She was more than ready to go meet her to-be-new-friend.
She helped her mother bake some fresh chocolate chip cookies for the new neighbours as a gesture of courtesy and welcoming. (Yes she was good at that too.) Then her mother packed them up in a tiny jar and placed it in the basket which then she covered with a beautiful piece of blue crochet cloth. The cookies were all set. Brianna being very much tempted by the smell of it managed to sneak two into her pocket. Then she ran upstairs to her very pretty room to get dressed. She couldn't wait any longer!!!!
