Yuqi groaned in frustration, the familiar sound tothrough the walls again — her sister and Soojin were at it upstairs. Again.
She reached for the remote, cranking up the volume of her beloved Doraemon, hoping to drown out the moans that were entirely too vivid for this hour of the afternoon.
It didn’t help.
With a pillow pressed against one ear and the other hand scrolling mindlessly through her phone, Yuqi muttered, “Unbelievable. Do they think the rest of us are deaf?”
A quiet laugh broke her internal monologue.
She sat upright, startled. Standing just inside the living room archway, arms crossed, was none other than Soyeon Jeon — polished, poised, and watching her with amused curiosity.
Yuqi’s cheeks flamed instantly. “M-Ms. Jeon! I didn’t see you there.”
“I figured,” Soyeon replied, her voice low and teasing. “I knocked—five times—but no one answered. So I used the access card your sister gave me. Besides, you seemed... busy.”
“I was not,” Yuqi said quickly. “Well. I mean... not like them.” She jabbed a thumb toward the ceiling.
Soyeon laughed — a sound both warm and sharp — before settling beside Yuqi on the couch, close enough that their knees brushed.
There it was again. That subtle electricity.
Soyeon wasn’t just some intimidating CEO. To Yuqi, she was intoxicating. Sharp in meetings, elegant in heels, and yet gentle in a way that was quietly disarming. She also happened to be Yuqi’s ultimate crush.
Yuqi had convinced herself Soyeon was straight — or at least, never curious about women — but lately, things had shifted. The way Soyeon hugged her lingered longer than it should’ve. Her cheek kisses felt intimate. She started asking to spend time with Yuqi alone. No Soojin, no Shuhua. Just the two of them.
And today... Soyeon was looking at her in a way that made her skin feel tight.
“So,” Soyeon said, gesturing upstairs with a small tilt of her chin. “They’re still... occupied?”
Yuqi groaned. “Honestly, they have no shame. It’s like a concert in surround sound.”
Soyeon chuckled, her gaze warm and lingering. “You’re cute when you rant.”
Yuqi blinked. Her breath caught, just for a moment. “I—I’m not cute.”
“You are,” Soyeon said with that same unwavering calm. “Especially when you're flustered.”
Yuqi tried to focus on Doraemon, but she could feel Soyeon watching her. That gaze — gentle yet piercing — sent a ripple down her spine.
And then Soyeon leaned just a little closer.
“You always smell amazing,” she murmured, just above a whisper.
Yuqi froze. Her heart thundered against her ribs like it wanted to break free. “Do I?”
Soyeon smiled. “Like rain on orchids. Soft. Familiar.”
The air between them turned heavy. Yuqi didn’t dare move. When Soyeon’s hand gently brushed her thigh, Yuqi felt the heat rise from her chest to her ears. Her breath hitched, and yet, she didn’t pull away.
Soyeon’s fingers were slow, deliberate. Just a graze. Not claiming, not asking — but undeniably intimate.
“I shouldn't be doing this,” Soyeon whispered, her voice suddenly fragile. “But I don’t want to stop.”
Yuqi turned her head, meeting her eyes. “Then don’t.”
And just like that, the world narrowed.
Soyeon leaned in, and their lips met — not hungry, not wild. Just... soft. Curious. Reverent. It was a kiss that tasted like a secret. A promise. A beginning.
Yuqi’s hand found Soyeon’s shoulder, steadying herself against the dizzying surge of emotion. Soyeon deepened the kiss slightly, but held her close like she was made of something delicate.
When they parted, foreheads pressed together, neither said a word for a moment.
“I’ve wanted to do that for a long time,” Soyeon murmured.
Yuqi nodded, voice caught in her throat. “Me too.”
Their breathing slowed, mingled. Soyeon’s hand brushed a strand of hair behind Yuqi’s ear. Then trailed down — cheek, jaw, collarbone — before resting lightly on her waist. A thumb grazed skin beneath her shirt, and Yuqi shivered under the soft contact.
Soyeon looked at her, eyes darker now. “You’re breathtaking, Yuyu.”
Yuqi smiled shyly. “I hate that nickname.”
“I know.” Soyeon smirked. “But you let me use it.”
“Because it’s you,” Yuqi admitted.
There was a knock on the door, then it creaked open — Soojin’s voice rang out, teasing and bright.
“Well, look who decided to join us!”
Yuqi leapt off the couch like she’d been electrocuted, scrambling to sit properly as Soojin appeared behind her sister, grinning like a fox.
Soyeon didn’t even blink. “We were just watching Doraemon,” she said coolly.
“Oh?” Soojin arched a brow. “Is that what the kids are calling it these days?”
Yuqi’s face turned beet red. Shuhua burst out laughing. “Unnie, your hair is a mess and your lips are redder than usual.”
“Must be the lighting,” Soyeon offered innocently.
Yuqi buried her face in a cushion.
The teasing continued, but Soyeon reached over, gently squeezing Yuqi’s hand under the throw blanket, grounding her again. A silent promise passed between them in that touch.
After all the noise, after all the confusion... something was finally beginning.
And Yuqi was ready to let it bloom.
