?: Mario...
Mario wandered the darkness hearing his name being called a number of times, but not knowing who.
?: Mario...
He jumped hearing it again and got into a fighting stance.
?: Oh don't be frightened, I won't hurt you...not yet.
Mario had no idea who this was. Whoever it was, they weren't revealing themselves to him.
?: I'm coming for you, Mario, I'm coming for you. You'll wish you never set foot in the Mushroom Kingdom. I'll destroy you once and for all!
This shocked Mario enough to get annoyed at the anonymous voice that continued to threaten him. Just as he was about to break, he fell into a black hole. As he was falling, he saw a pair of red eyes gaze right into his soul. He wasn't able to recognize them.
?: Don't pretend you don't know, we've met before...in the past...
The anonymous figure suddenly charged straight at Mario, causing him to scream loudly.

Mario woke up screaming, his sheets covered in sweat, his heart beating like a thousand drums. Peach woke up beside him hearing his distress.
Peach: Mario? Is everything okay?
Mario nodded, but he was unable to get that awful nightmare out of his head. Their 4 year old daughter, Maria heard his screams as well.
Maria: Daddy? Are you okay?
Mario just put his head down, he didn't want to mention this to anyone, at least not until the time was right. Not until he knew for sure what this was all about.
(Yeah, sorry if this chapter was short. It's hard for me to start a book than to finish a book. I promise the next chapter will be longer.)
