The Kiss

chapter 2 Flashback

 I wasn't going to continue this fic, but then I noticed a few of you favorite it, so I decided to get another chapter up for you. i hope you enjoy.

Clementine stood on the balcony of the ski lodge looking out at all the trees in the distance, and the river

that was nearby the lodge. The wind began to pick up causing her hair to go all over the place since her

hat wasn't on her head, and her hair was free from its usual style. she shivered, and wrapped her arms

around herself to keep warm. "you look cold, here i'll keep you warm" Luke softly said, as he walked out

onto the balcony, and wrapped his arms around clementine embracing her softly.

 "t...thanks Luke." Clementine said lightly, a warm smile forming on her lips. If it would have been some other guy attempting to wrap his arms around her, and hold her; she probably would have gotten upset, and pushed him away or told him that she was fine, but since it was Luke holding her she didn't mind. in fact she enjoyed the things Luke did for her such as trying to keep her warm when she was cold.

 "no problem Clem, what are you doing out here all alone this late at night?" Luke curiously asked. his grip around her tightened. he closed his eyes trying to enjoy the peaceful moment they shared together.

"I couldn't sleep so I decided to come out and get some fresh air, what about you? why are you awake?" Clementine replied, leaning her head back onto Luke's chest, slightly turning her head so she could gaze into his soft brown eyes. Luke's eyes opened, and he met

clementine's gaze.

"Nick's monstrous snoring woke me up from a pleasant dream. heh, I remember a few years back Pete took Nick and I camping. Nick started snoring loud, so Pete and I went to the car and slept in there. I

bet his snoring kept bears from coming into our camping site while we where asleep. I know if I was a bear, I would be afraid to go near Nick's monstrous snores" Luke chuckled lightly. He looked up at the moon "everything seems so peaceful here at the lodge, I really like it here don't you?" Luke asked, earning a soft nod from Clementine. Her Amber eyes shifted from Luke to the moon and then to

the stars. She really enjoyed the Skii lodge, and being somewhere that had electricity, hot water and nice comfortable beds.

"It's nice here Luke, I wish we could stay here forever... but something's probably going to happen just as

it usually does.  I have a bad feeling we will be leaving from this place pretty soon." she said, looking back up at Luke. Luke though to himself for a moment before looking down at Clementine

 "hey, quit being so negative, if something happens we have each other, we are a team, and we look out for one other, hell... if it wasn't for you i'd probably be long gone." the tone in his

voice shifted, he spun clementine around, and embraced her giving her a tight hug softly whispering in

her ear. "Thank you, for saving my life, and not leaving me behind." Luke said to her, she met his gaze

again. there was a small hint of blush on her cheeks

"y..your welcome." she shield her mouth trying to hide a yawn. Luke's eyebrow arched up. "Tired? I guess we should both head to bed." he said as he let go of her and took a step back.

"yeah.. but before i go, Luke, i never got a chance to say

thank you for saving me." She leaned up to his cheek planting a soft kiss on it. Luke's cheeks went as red

as a tomato and he scratched behind his head, just as he usually did when he was embarrassed.

 "no problem Clementine." He bashfully murmured. Clementine smirked and began to head back inside, she stopped in the door way "i'll always come back for you Luke, remember that." she softly and left inside leaving Luke on the balcony. Luke stood there wide eyed, a smile formed on his face.

"i'll always come back for you too Clementine." Luke said loud enough for her to hear. Clementine smiled and continued to walk down the hallway. Luke made his way into the lodge.
