Yoongi's anxiety steadily increased as the school day went on. Jimin had assured him he'd be back at school, and yet, the omega was nowhere to be found. By the time lunch came around and Jimin still hadn't made an appearance, he was ready to burst. "Why didn't Jimin come to school today?" He asked as he unceremoniously flopped into his usual seat, leg bouncing erratically under the table.
"Why don't you ever text him instead of always asking us if we've heard from him?" Hoseok asked through his mouthful of food.
"I have an answer to both of those questions." Taehyung announced before pointing directly at Yoongi. "Because you're a dumbass."
Yoongi blinked at him in confusion. "What did I do?"
Taehyung groaned and looked at Jungkook. "Do you know why he's in love with him? Because I'm still failing to understand?
The alpha looked between the two, still not grasping what was going on. "Love? What are you talking about?"
Jungkook sighed, clasping his hands together. "I'm gonna try to explain this to you as clearly as possibly." He paused as if to make sure Yoongi was following along. "Jimin is in love with you." Yoongi was sure he had stopped breathing. "You didn't kiss him last night, so he decided to stay home an extra day to 'recover from the rejection of his alpha'."
"You're lying." Was Yoongi's response once he'd regained his ability to speak. "Jimin doesn't like me like that."
Taehyung groaned again, turning his head towards the ceiling. "Why, Leto? Out of all the alpha's, why did you lead Jimin to this one?"
Yoongi automatically rolled his eyes. "Don't start with the Leto bullshit-"
"Jimin's literally been in love with you since the day you met." Taehyung informed him, stabbing his lunch with his chopsticks. "And I do mean literally. I went home with him after that first day of school for a playdate, and the first thing he said to his mom when we got in the car was, 'Eomma, I met my mate'."
The alpha shook his head. "No, he didn't."
Taehyung rolled his eyes. "Yes, he did. And the rule about not courting an alpha until he matured? Yeah, his dad made that up because of how much he was talking about courting and mating you." Yoongi shook his head again, refusing to accept the words coming out of Taehyung's mouth. "I can't." Taehyung smacked his hands on the table, turning to Namjoon. "He's your best friend. You deal with him."
Namjoon looked at Yoongi and nodded. "They're telling the truth." Yoongi felt his brain short circuiting at that point. Namjoon had never lied to him, and he knew his best friend would never lie to him about something like this, yet his brain was still struggling to accept the knowledge that Jimin not only liked him but was apparently in love with him.
"Wait, so Jimin wants to...court me?"
"And he's finally getting it." Jungkook applauded him. "Yes, he wants to court you."
Yoongi fell silent for a couple of minutes, letting the information sink in. Then, it finally hit him. Jimin sharing his food, making the anonymous calls to the cops about his mom's past boyfriends, the consoling him in his bedroom, and finally the Yoongi box. It all finally made since. "Holy shit~" He breathed out, looking around at his friends with wide eyes.
"Now," Taehyung clapped his hands together once he was sure that Yoongi had fully accepted that Jimin was, in fact, in love with him. "We all already know that you're in love with him too, so if you guys aren't courting the next time we see the two of you together, I swear to Leto, I will castrate you with my chopsticks."
Jungkook nodded his head. "He will."
Yoongi rubbed his sweaty hands on his jeans as he walked down the street in Jimin's neighborhood, playing over the speech he had planned out for the omega to finally profess his love and formally ask to court him. As he approached the house, he caught sight of Jimin's mom climbing in her car to head somewhere, the female omega waving at him in greeting. He returned the wave as she backed out of the driveway, then took a deep breath before stepping up to the front door.
As he knocked on it, he once again went over the opening words to his speech, about how he knew he couldn't provide as much for the omega as a lot of alphas could, but that he still deserved a chance to prove himself worthy of being Jimin's alpha. Then the door opened and the sight of Jimin had all the words flying out of his mind. "Yoongi?" He blinked owlishly at Jimin, momentarily forgetting every word in the Korean language. "What are you doing-"
Suddenly Yoongi was pressing his lips to Jimin's, the kiss lasting for only a few seconds before the alpha pulled back again. "I'm sorry." He blurted out as Jimin stared at him with wide eyes, his lips parted slightly in surprise. "I should have asked first, but I panicked because I had this really great speech planned and then forgot it and-"
"Do it again." Jimin cut him off, biting his lip as he stared at the alpha expectantly.
Yoongi blinked again. "What?"
The omega giggled, a soft smile appearing on his face. "Do it again." He repeated, his voice barely above a whisper as he leaned ever so slightly towards the alpha.
"O-okay, yeah, I can do that." Jimin giggled again as Yoongi nodded, the alpha slowly and nervously leaning back in to press his lips to Jimin's once more.
This time, Jimin got the chance to kiss him back, his soft lips molding against Yoongi's in a way that had the alpha's heart threatening to beat out of his chest. He subconsciously raised his hands to gently hold Jimin's cheeks as Jimin wrapped his arms around his neck, almost pressing his body against the alpha's. Eventually, Jimin pulled away, bumping his nose against Yoongi's with a giggle. "So, you had a really great speech planned?"
Yoongi nodded. "Do you want to hear it? I can try to remember it if you do."
Jimin giggled again, shaking his head. "No, I think I'm good." He leaned in to kiss Yoongi again but was stopped by somebody clearing their throat. "Oh, hi, appa!" Jimin greeted, causing Yoongi to jump away and put some distance between them, avoiding looking at the older alpha. "How was your day?"
"Just fine, sweetie." Jimin's father lovingly ruffled his hair. "Did you finish your chores?"
"Not yet." Jimin answered honestly, and with a look from his father, began backing back inside the house, looking at Yoongi again. "Bye, Yoongi, I'll see you tomorrow."
Yoongi very quietly bid Jimin goodbye as the omega raced back inside to finish his chores, looking around awkwardly as Jimin's father turned to him. "Hello, Yoongi."
"Hello, Mr. Park." Yoongi said quietly still looking at his feet.
"Look up at me, please." The older alpha requested, and Yoongi did as asked, his hands shaking slightly. "I like you, Yoongi." He let out a small breath of relief at those four words. "I really do. I always have." Yoongi opened his mouth to thank him, but then the older alpha took a step towards him with a hardened expression. "But if you hurt my little boy, they won't ever find your body."
Yoongi blinked at him, swallowing thickly. "Understood, sir."
Jimin's father then smiled at him, clapping him on the shoulder. "I'll be seeing you around."
"Yes, sir." Yoongi nodded before turning tail and running off.
