I sprint through the woods and feel the sting as branches scratch my face and arms. But I don't care. I just need to leave. Get away from the monster in the woods. I feel my feet starting to get heavy and sore from running so fast and far. The path I'm running on gets harder and harder to run on. The farther I run, the more rocks and sticks litter the ground. I trip on a rock and fall to the ground. I feel the skin getting ripped from my knees and my blood staining my legs. It burns. A lot. But I get up and keep running. Away from the death that awaits me just a few strides away. I start to get really tired from running and question if it's really worth it. What if I just gave up? Lay here and let death come and eat me up? There's not much to keep living for anyways. But what will happen to my little sister? My baby sister? Just at home. With no one there. She'll starve. And then she'll die. Just like me. Even if someone does find her and feed her and give her a loving home, will she be able to bear with the pain of losing me? And what if she ends up with a family that treats her badly. A family that abuses her and tortures her until she can't take it anymore and decides to end it all? No. I can't give up. I must run. Run until I set myself free from the monster lurking in the woods. If not for myself, for my sister. I must push through and run back home. Take my sister and leave. I must get out of here and never return. Move to a new country maybe. Get a fresh start. That sounds nice. Maybe I can finally pursue my dreams of becoming a doctor. My sister can finally go to a proper school. The best school in the country. She will finally be able to follow her dreams. I stop my thoughts there. I don't think I'll ever be able to give my sister the life she wants. But maybe just maybe... a small voice in my head whispers. A sliver of hope rushes through my body and I run. Faster than I ever have before. I run and I run and I run. In hopes that my thoughts will finally become reality.
a/n: Okay so this is just a small little thing I wrote. I didn't plan it beforehand or anything. I kind of just started moving my hands across my keyboard and made this. I honestly have no idea where this idea came from. I would say this is one of my better stories. I love the detail in it. But yeah. I might make another part but I highly doubt it. I kind of like the ending and I have no idea how to continue it without it sounding lame so it's going to end there. But not all hope is lost for e sequel. Well drink some water, eat some food, and stay as hot as fuck.
