Devon slept for the entire trip, sprawled out across the backseat in possibly the most illegal way she could manage. Dylan and Marcus were up front, Dylan driving and Marcus giving the wrong directions.

❝ You need to learn how to drive. ❞ Dylan announced, glancing towards him before looking back to the road ❝ Unless you plan on walking for the rest of your life. ❞

Marcus scoffed, unlocking his phone and trying to connect it to the radio ❝ Why would I if I have you? ❞

A smile appeared when 𝘗𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘺 𝘎𝘪𝘳𝘭𝘴 𝘔𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘎𝘳𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘴 began playing through the cars speakers ❝ I can teach you, if you want. I passed my test first try. ❞

❝ What a flex, ❞ He replied, a mix between sarcasm and surprise ❝ are you sure you want me to ruin your super expensive, flashy car? ❞

He got an eye roll in response ❝ You're driving a car, not a spaceship. What, you plan on us Ubering to our dates? ❞

❝ Who said I'd be bringing you on any more dates with that attitude? ❞ He winced when her hand came out and slapped his arm ❝ It was a joke! ❞

She just mocked him, eyes flicking from the road to his phone every time it buzzed in the centre console. It wasn't jealousy, Marcus barely had the social skills to get with her never mind juggle two girls at once, it was more so curiosity, well, nosiness.

❝ Which of your side pieces is it now? Billy or Lex? ❞ Dylan teased, laughing when he told her to fuck off.

He dumped his phone back in the centre console after he'd checked the name ❝ Maria, again. ❞

Marcus had told her about his newfound friendship with Maria, ever since Chico almost killed him Maria had been exceptionally friendly, maybe to try make up for it. She disappeared for a while when Dylan and Marcus became common gossip but clearly she was back.

❝ Don't ignore her, that's so mean. ❞ She squinted as the rising sun reflected off the hood of the car, prompting her to flick down the sun visor ❝ Where is she going? ❞

The pair watched as Saya pulled into a bar, Dylan parking alongside her while Marcus threw the fluffy puff keychain from her keys and threw it at Devon to wake her up.

The parties in both cars were now stretching and questioning Saya for her choice to pull in at a hippy dive bar.

❝ Hippies have drugs! ❞ The Kuroki leader announced, as if the group should've guessed what she was thinking ❝ Give me your money, you can't trust these crunchy fuckers. ❞

❝ You think I can't tell if someone is selling me bunk drugs? ❞

Unanimously the group agreed that Marcus could in fact not tell whether or not he was being scammed. Then Saya turned to look at Dylan and Devon expectantly.

❝ Can't get burnt if you don't pay in the first place. ❞ Dylan grinned, earning a high five from Devon who'd accompanied her in more than enough adventures.

Willie eyed the Akagi girl disbelievingly ❝ Ain't you a little overdressed for a drug deal? ❞

She used her hand to smooth out her outfit, a sage green, Burberry inspired dress that came to her mid thigh with a sweetheart neckline and thin straps. A beige cropped denim jacket and knee high heels were paired with it, along with a brown handbag.

He was right, she stuck out like a sore thumb, but at least she looked good.

❝ White in the desert? Not a good idea, hermana. ❞ Maria winced, already imagining how easily the clothes could get dirty.
