Playing hard to get

Stay focused ~ chapter 2

It comes to Monday morning and I wake up in my bed doing my usual routine.  I have a shower get dressed and make my way to work. I want this week to be more organised and less depressing compared to last week.

"At least I have something to look up too." I say to myself as I drive slowly
to work. That is of course to see my new assistant Edward. I can't believe that I am the boss of someone who is older than me and so sexy.

"Hey Bella, how was your weekend?" Victoria asked me as I enter the 14th  floor. " Oh great. And yours Vic?" I replied to her.

She didn't answer and her sweet smile faded away. " what's wrong. Was it something I said?" I asked her hoping that it wasn't me.

" Oh, it's just that my fiance and I are in the middle of a fight because of our long distance relationship. "Hey Vici. Maybe we can go for a coffee after work and we'll chat about it." I said to her. I am kind of concerned.
"Sure, I would love that." Victoria replied with that sweet smile of hers put back onto her face.

I finally got to my office and found Edward laying a fresh batch of flowers in my vase that's on my desk.

"Good morning Edward."  I said to him as I walked into the room.

"Oh, good morning Miss swan." He said to me with a smile on his face.
Oh my god, his smile is so cute. Those lips of his look so kissable.

Bella, hold it together. I say to myself trying to keep myself from trying to kiss him.

"Edward I have to go to see an author that would like to publish her first book. While I am gone can you check all of my emails,  when I get back We can talk and go through some rules." I said to Edward as I got my stuff.

"How was the meeting." Edward asked me as soon as i got back. "It was okay." I replied as Edward was murmmering something to himself.

I couldn't hear what saying but I moved on. Edward and i sat down at my desk and we went through some rules.

I could that Edward wasn't really looking at me normally.

At the end of our talk Edward started asking some personal questions,
Like how old was I and what do I like to do and stuff.

I had given him strait forward answers.

Edward got up and started to leave."Edward, are you single."in have no idea where that came from."yes I am Miss Swan." He replied to me with a smirkish look on his face.

It was finally the end not the day and i went with Victoria to tea. She told about her fight with her by friend and that they want to break up.

After tea we went home and i jump on my bed. I need to have a look on my computer i think as i get up and walk towards it.

I see that I have an email from Edward Cullen.

Is it something from work I guess not myself or is it more of his personal
questions.

I replied to all of your emails and there are a few meetings that I have scheduled for you. Sorry I didn't get to tell you earlier.

I look at the message thinking about how he gave me that smirk before I left work. Does he like me or am I imagining things.

It doesn't matter. I am going to bed.

Days have passed by and it's been 2 weeks that Edward Cullen has been my assistant. I haven't seen my boyfriend in 3 months.

Edward and I have been spending a lot of time together and we went to the movies just the other day.

"Hey Edward." I said to him s he walked into my office."Bella we need to talk."He calls me Bella now because we're friends. "Yes Edward. What is it?"

"I quit."He said in a low voice. "WHAT! You can't quit." I yelled wondering if it were something that I had done.

"Why are you quiting. Did I do something wrong?" I shout and i can't seem to think strait.

"No Bella, it's just that I...." Edward couldn't seem to get his words out.

"It's just what Edward! " He doesn't reply, my heart beat starts to pick up the pace and i feel the urge to kiss him.

"Kiss Me. " I said to Edward. The room is in silence for a few seconds.

Edward doesn't hesitate to push me against the wall and kiss me. I kiss him back and I can feel our tongues push against eachother.

Suddenly I hear my office door slam shut and we stop kissing.

Mike wait, I said as i saw my boyfriend that I haven't seen in 3 months stare at me.

"Mike, please wait." I yell out as he walks out the building.

"I can't belive that I come to see my girlfriend that I haven't seen in so long and I find her making out in her office with some guy.

"What are you doing here. You said that you only coming to visit next month." I said holding back my tears from flowing out of my eyes.

Mike just looked at me and got into his car. I instantly new that e were over.

I don't bother to walk back into the office and get into my car. I can't hold back my tears and let them go as I drive out of the parking lot.

I get home and jump onto my bed crying my eyes out. I don't know why I'm so sad about us breaking up because we barely see each other and when we do its for so little time.
