"Y/N YOU GOTTA GO TO SCHOOL" your mom yells from downstairs to wake you up. Oddly enough you didn't hear her. You stayed in bed until you heard mumbling and footsteps coming upstairs. "Mira y si no te levantas te voy darte una." (English translation: "If you don't get up I will give you one.") You heard your mom say in spanish; it was at that moment you knew you f**ked up. You hear the door slam open with aggression "Get your ass up before you're late to school, if you aren't dressed in five minutes you won't hear the end of it." With such anger in her voice, and the eyes of the devil looking into your soul. You couldn't feel anything but fear creeping inside you while being stared down from your mother.

You get up to the first day of school and change in less than five minutes before you get your ass put in grass. You went downstairs and smelled the sweet flavor of honey and the scent of warm pancakes and strawberries. As you were about to dig in; you heard a stampede coming towards you... 'HERE WE GO AGAIN' you thought to yourself as you went to go ahead and get your pancakes. The dinner table was swarmed with 3 other siblings. Two being the oldest, you being the middle child, and then the youngest. You were the therapist in the family, you sat down with everyone and heard their problems; but it did come with consequences. You see, you are always being walked over on and you don't have a problem with that until it gets outta hand. You are always there when needed even if no one else is. You absorb everyone's negativity till it forms something dark inside, something...foreign. You display a heartwarming smile that conceals a quite temperamental demon inside, and you only show the suppressed beast in fleeting moments. But you are sensitive and you wish for someone to hear you from the outside. You are the forgotten one, the one who's a monster to those who mess with you and yours. You, my friend, are the forgotten child that holds darkness & chaos under a warm smile, who keeps secrets more perilous than a bomb and locks promises tighter than a safe. The catch 22: you have secrets of your own that no one knows, not even your closest confidants.

It's time to go to school and you leave sprinting out the door. "Y/N WAIT FOR YOUR SISTER AND BROTHER YOU NEED TO TAKE THEM TO SCHOOL YOU LITTLE TOOTHPICK!!" Ah, the ingenuity of the nicknames your mother and father give you. "YEAH YEAH, I'LL BE BACK DON'T WORRY, JUST WANNA RUN WITH THE BREEZE!!" You run as fast as you can, wishing to fly away from it all. You come back to the household and wait for your second oldest sibling and your younger one. "Now be sure to make new friends, alright you crickets? Also Y/N don't get into any trouble like last year. Don't get anyone hospitalized again, and make sure you give it your best alright, you too (insert brother's name: B/N)." "Yeah Yeah, don't worry, but if I do send a kid to the ER again, just know it isn't my fault, it's theirs. Afterall, I am (Insert sister's name: 2nd older S/N)'s bodyguard." You reason with your mother since your sister had a chromosome defect so she was born differently than you, and your little brother and your 1st older sister. But you loved your sister nonetheless, she's vulnerable and always getting picked on by other kids. Just thinking about the memories gets you mad, and ready to choke someone to death if they ever laid a finger on her again. You are always on constant vigilance, never trusting someone who comes near you. You are a wolf in sheep's clothing.

Faint voices started to repeat your name. "Earth to y/n...Y/N!!" Your mother was calling you. "I was calling you 5 times, you're gonna be late to school. Now go, no fighting kids during highschool got it. Alright bye." As you were about to walk off into a new start or same start you hear your mom yell "I LOVE YOU Y/N, MI VIDA!!!" (English: My life) You felt your face heat up by embarrassment, but it always goes away when you just wanna be 10x better. "TE AMO, QUE TODO EL MUNDO SABE QUE TE QUIERO, VIEJA!!" (English: Ily, that the whole world knows I love you, old hag.) You were absolutely positive that the whole neighborhood heard you, and if they did, all the better, shows them my love for my family is all-powerful and ever so strong.

After dropping off my little brother to the school, I took my sister and gave her a piggyback ride to her new school. The school I go to is an early college high school. I am not very fond of the idea of me leaving her side, but my high school doesn't have a special program, and I leave school 2 hours after her. I have my doubts and skepticisms, but I know she can manage...I hope. I dropped her off and I noticed some familiar faces. The ones I sent to Memorial Hermann, the nurse's office, and people I knew from afar, but never associated with much. Ah the memories, the fact of not having a friend is funny to me at least I think so.... Eh who needs them... "OH WAIT HOLD UP I DO HAVE A FRIEND... How could I forget?!" I wonder if (insert friend's name) can watch over my sister...I called my friend on my walk to school.

Friend:"Yo what's up? Been a minute, huh?"

You:"Come on, it has only been one summer that we haven't talked, we aren't that far, I'm literally next door to you... School wise..."

Friend: "Yeah, yeah, ik so what's up?"

You: "Wanted to ask if you can watch over my sister, I don't trust anyone that isn't you watching over her, in return I will buy you food."

Friend: "Alright bet, is that it?"

You: "Rude, you don't just ask that."

Friend: "Well you do realize we won't have much communication now, and you do realize there's at some point we are gonna lose connection, yes?"

You: "Yes, I know... But why do you have to be so negative on a Monday? Be more optimistic, having a negative mindset won't help you at all.?"

Friend: "It's not all sunshine and rainbows out here Y/N. Face reality already, you're stuck in a cruel world."

You think I don't know that... Do you think I'm so naive to not know I am living it right now.

You don't know me at all then to know what happened in the past... Pathetic.

You: ".... See you after school then, ya dork."

In all reality, you trusted (Friends name) with a few secrets, just 3 but they weren't deep ones. Oh how clueless he/she is about the true depth of your past, how they only know you have problems mentally, and how you almost got handcuffed for causing such violence in school for bullying your sister. Truth is; they don't know you were also picked on for years, for being related to such a child. Oh how much you were disgusted with kids who bullied her. But everytime they bullied her you were always one to jump into action and stab them with a pencil. And if your pencil was thrown to the side, you would kick them, punch them, use such brutality against them. All what used to be your childhood was gone by the 3rd grade. You hated everyone. You didn't care who hurt you, you will let it pass. You didn't really care for yourself since at such a young age you wanted to jump off a bridge and let life take you to another world that isn't earth. But you stayed, the only anchor of your life being your sister. You didn't care if you got hurt, beaten, or had someone take your life away, you made a promise to yourself you wouldn't let anyone hurt her. Even at the cost of my life...

"School opened... I wonder what other idiot will come at me today... Shit" You said under your breath and walked into the building.
